N690 Info: The main advantage of N690 stainless steel in the production of knives is undoubtedly its balanced composition. This alloy is well resistant to corrosion, can be heat-treated to 60 HRC and retains high impact toughness. However, like 440C, N690 is inferior in sharpness retention to its popular competitors, such as D2 or PGK. The closest to it in composition, apart from 440C, are Japanese VG-10, AUS-10, as well as Russian 95X18. I have no issues with VG-10 or AUS-10. Today's carry is a Civivi Lumi Lundquist top flipper; very nice really with 14C28N blade steel.

We will find out in the woods how the heat treat holds up. I have had great luck with Fox knives and maintaining its edge. We shall see.

I have the new Civivi Amirite in my pocket today, along with a Case Sodbuster Jr. That handle does look like burlap micarta. Either way, it looks pretty nice! That's the knife I was talked. I am really impressed, I don't have any doubt it Is 1095. I tested like ef 128 and this knife Is extraordinary. No shape damage, no problem with tip retention. Between this knife AND ef 128 I Will prefer this knife, and I really love ef 128
