It really confuses me who these are made for, most kids who watch Ryan are literally too small to hold the blasters, especially the bigger ones. The high FPS also don’t help much. I don’t even think any people who would be able to hold the blasters would care about Ryan.

Some of these I could see the appeal for the casing shape, and just covering up the original paint and logo, but even that doesn't really explain releasing this in a good way

Yeah, grease is used to ensure smooth functioning of the internals... but this case they used too much. Some blasters have grease leaking out of handle, priming handle parts, etc. It's not harmful but just very annoying
