OK folks. Did you, like me, come to this video to find a legit comparison of the top miter saws? Then move on; this isn't the droid you are looking for. As soon as you heard the narrative voice you probably knew that. Not actually a review and a very strange, and totally incomplete, list of saws. No apples-to-apples here with cordless and corded, as well as 10" and 12" saws in the same "review" (are there any pros out there other than trim and finish carpenters who are not rocking a 12" saw now). Lots of comments mention that there are a considerable number of good saws missing like the Makita, HF Hercules, and the star of finish saws, the Festool Kapex. I feel that any miter saw video that does not note the vastly greater utility of a slider over the fixed saws is doing a disservice to anyone looking to buy their first saw. To make this list even stranger, the price range is extreme. I have owned, and used in a professional shop, the Makita saws, the Rigid 12" slider, several different DeWalt models, and recently abandoned my 10 year old DeWalt slider (excellent saw) for the Bosch GCM12SD that they show here. The Bosch is a top tier saw and in a few ways a definite upgrade from my DeWalt. But it is also a beast of a machine with a handle that seems to have been designed for an NFL lineman. No joke. My hands are average size ( I wear a size L work glove) but I feel like I can barely get a proper grip on the handle of that saw. Aside from that one oddity I think it is the most versatile and best tracking (in 12"; some of the 10" saws have very precise tracking) miter saw I have ever owned; also the most expensive. So this video might be an interesting starting point for anyone looking to buy their first saw or wondering about upgrades. But it is certainly not a review; just a way to generate revenue thru the Amazon affiliate links listed. A misrepresentation that I sort of find annoying.

Dollar for Dollar, the Skill saw is by far the best saw on this list.

The Skil, listed at #3, is literally the best for any DIY because 99% of home users will NEVER use the features that make #1/2 stand out and the savings in cost allow the user to invest in top quality blades that are the actual factor most of these reviews neglect to touch on when rating the saw. And to add a 10” will have less wobble than the 12 when the blade starts to get dull.

how difficult is it to adjust the skil so that it cuts square and accurately?

@ I barely had to tweak any settings to get it squared before I started cutting some old oak flooring to patch a place in my floor that needed repairing Since then, I’ve done a good bit of ripping up with another blade and then went back to the fine cut blade, and everything was still square. I got a pretty good deal on Amazon after watching the price go up and down.

I got mine back in 2022 for $239. It was just on sale -- day after Black Friday -- for $199. YIKES!
