Oh gosh, I just remembered... when I was a kid I thought that desk was a bed. I miss my lego so much.

Interesting story about the post office car. My Mom bought this set for me at my local toy store called "Child World" when I was 11 years old and that was in 1986. I remember the year because we had just moved into a new house in the fall of 85'. I used to see the set on the shelf. I finally convinced my Mom to buy it for me and I still have it in the box to this day. The set came out in 1980. So how it was still on the shelf in 1985 is a mystery to me. I got lucky I guess.

Why is the red version a mail van but the intercity version the post wagon. The nice bright red colour matches the electric passenger train but the promo shots in the catalogues show it with the intercity passenger train. Very confusing

If I had that train i would have totally "Janged" it. (just made that word up) meaning I would change it up, use the bricks and make all the cars longer, like the mail car. That would look awesome.

BAT: Do you have any PAT PEND LEGO in your BrickLink store? What is your favorite source for specific PAT PEND bricks? Great review by the way! I'm loving train month.

Two 2 axle cars would have looked better than this big one on that trainset
