Honestly, with the Battinson cowl having such a unique look with its sharp ears and smooth forehead, they should have made a new cowl mold entirely for these sets. The strapless cowl looks far more like Batfleck and the default strapped cowl just makes the figure feel more generic.

The underground terminus was only available to the Wayne family (so they could travel to and from Wayne tower and Wayne manor without having to deal with Gotham traffic), and it was later shut down because they no longer used it. I believe it was only accessible through Wayne manor and Wayne tower. So, it is completely shut off to the public. Also, according to some research, Wayne manor was burned down by the riddler when he was younger. So the only access point is located at Wayne tower... which is where Bruce probably lives. This is all canon according to the trailer info and the novel.

I'm going to guess that the Batcave in this movie will be a disused private subway rail-line that belonged to the Wayne's, that has fallen into dis-use since Thomas and Martha's death and was abandoned until Bruce starts his war on crime.

For some reason I was thinking this was $60 while I watched the whole review, until the end. I was thinking how nice it would be to combine this with the Clayface Invasion Batcave, and also being able to skip the smaller Battinson sets. Hopefully the price will go down a bit on store shelves.

i think this set is the best batcave set for display,and probably this is the worst set for play. 80 dollars is a bit steep i think this set should have been 60 dollars or 70 dollars tops

It had the potential to be a MARVELOUS set, what's there is good but not enough for $80, wish there was more to it overall and that Lego didn't skimp on the smaller but decisive details - more accurate Batman cowl + dual molding for his legs. I don't know why but Lego gets extremely stingy when it comes to structure builds, like they want to get away with providing the bare minimum for the maximum price. MAKE YOUR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES MORE COMPLETE LEGO, IT SERVES BOTH, PLAY AND DISPLAY VALUE! NO MORE SHALLOW FACADES WITH LITTLE TO NO SUBSTANCE!

Despite anyones feelings on this mini sub theme of “The Batman”, I honestly didn’t think we were even gonna get this adaptation in Lego form.

I think more attachments to the walls would add more value - maybe even just one more that can hold a small table or armoury. I find it slightly frustrating that this set has such a similar layout to the Spider-Man sanctum set - especially the tools being on the same side.

The red lens feature really reminds me of the colored tiles in the 1997 Divers theme which has blue/red print on them as well, and you would put them in a blue transparent "X-Ray" machine.

My guess would be that when he goes out during the day he wears his "drifter" outfit. That way he isn't identified as Bruce Wayne but Batman would stand out too much.

I have this set now. I think the best thing this set could have done is be priced at 60 or maybe even 70 dollars. Its a solid set, just not enough of a thing there for 80. Maybe if they had made a little bit of wayne tower above the main build it would be more reasonable at 80? Idk

I kinda agree with you Jang, maybe they should have added another Bat vehicle in this set, perhaps a Batwing? If there's one in the new movie, we don't really know, but overhaul, it's a pretty nice set and some good play value in it, and if you add the Batmobile in there, it's much better. Cool review, Jang!

I believe Wayne Manor got totally destroyed hence they are using an underground railway station tunnel that his family has sponsored a while ago has a secret hideout base in the new Batman movie. Maybe it's even part of a very old subway tunnel that is not in use anymore - in the new movie Batman uses a mobile command center on rails, so I believe that's that :O)

I am looking forward to getting this, but I really wish they made the "ramp" be able to raise up a little, like it shows in the movie. I know Lego can make it, they did something similar in set 60229, in the clean room.

To be honest I am not a big fan of how this “bat cave” is not a cave, but regardless I still don’t feel like this Lego set actually IS actually very good with “play & display” (especially with the price) but I guess “display-wise” it’s up to how the “buyer” feels. But I like the “detective like” tiles with magnifying glass…

Having now seen the movie, this does feel like a set that rounds up parts with no clear story you want to tell in a lego set. No idea why catwoman is here when she is so well covered in the cheapest set. Same with gordon and the riddler who perhaps would have been better off with a 30 dollar riddler apartment above a gotham diner set? Mabye this would have been better served with a wane tower set that plugs in above it? Or a little wane tower frontage on one side?

I watched this again because I was considering getting some parts from this set. I agree price is a bit high for this set, but that’s a nice Jim Gordon. The riddler is kind of cool and creepy in this set as well. I checked one of the websites that has a brick database online and it looks like five sets came with a Jim Gordon, but this version seems to be best or second best in my opinion. It looks like a good jim Gordon goes for $8-$12 on the secondary market.

Man they fumbled this batman minifig something fierce. I would have easily traded in some budget cuts from one of these sets to get that cowl right or even dual molded legs. shame. Maybe we'll get a second try in the sets from the sequel?

I do think it’s too expensive for $80. The mini figs seem to be the most impressive part and that’s not saying much. Maybe because the cave itself doesn’t look like a Bat-cave and the motorcycle isn’t anything special. Probably in theme with the movie but it does make this set more underwhelming than it could’ve been. $60 would’ve been much more acceptable.

I feel like this set has far too many exclusive figures. Like could they have not put lieutenant Gordon in the batmobile set instead? I understand you can’t really build a set around the confrontation of the riddler and Alfred would of course be in this set but Gordon could have been in any set really.

I honestly do not like the Riddlers design in the Pattinson movie. It doesn't scream "Riddle" at all. Batman's enemies has obvious visual characteristics that made them who they are.

I haven't seen The Batman yet so my context level is really low, but this set feels like a whole lot of nothing. In fact, even if I had context, this set feels like it would be a whole lot of nothing. The figures are decent enough, but that's all I get from this set. It's a glorified minifigure pack to me.
