Hi great videos!! my 6 year old is obsessed with them as well. he really likes to build his own, Is there a couple sets you could suggest to start with ?
@outworkrobotics3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what you are looking for. If you have motors and you just want parts to build with, the Rough Terrain Crane and the Bucket Wheel Excavator are really good sets for technic parts. Each of these however are expensive and retired from the Lego website. You can also try some other Technic sets, however the app controlled ones are overpriced and don't usually give much good parts unless they cost over $400. A good set for motors would be the Remote-controlled Stunt Racer, which is really good for it's price. It comes with the better power functions motors, however for a Lego Battlebot you would need another receiver and another motor. You can also buy individual parts from the Lego website "replacement parts" section, I can give you more information on that if it helps. Motors and other electronics can be bought from eBay, Bricklink, and Brickowl. If you have questions, I am happy to answer them.

@@outworkrobotics Brickcon typically takes place first week of October. This year, a physical convention will depend on what is going on with the virus, and a call will be made in a couple months time if it will or will not take place. If you're interested, I can provide you with updates once more info for 2021's con becomes available. Here's our ruleset battlebricks.org/about/

@@ShroomyEntertainment I've read through the rules and watched some of the Brickcon battlebricks fights. As of now, I am not certain whether or not I will be able to attend, but this is definitely something that I would like to do. Would you please inform me if there are any important updates? Also, is there an entrance fee for Brickcon?

@@outworkrobotics I'll provide you with an update in July. Yes, as with all Lego conventions, there is a registration fee for the weekend.

@@ShroomyEntertainment Sounds good, I just have two questions. Can I enter multiple battlebots? How much is the registration fee? Thank you for all the information, I hope to see you at Brickcon!

Absolutely fantastic! Love this channel and love the designs. Could you share the design of biscuit head? I've been trying to make my own elastic powered flipper using that wind mechanism for ages now and I just cant get the power out of it. Loved the design of pain that you shared. Just amazing design work!
@outworkrobotics2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I can't share Biscuit Head's design because I took it apart after CRBL was filmed. I did that because the force of the bands I put in him was too much, and it caused three axles to twist until they ripped in half and a gear to compress until it couldn't turn the next gear in the system. The way to get more strength out of a band flipper is with more rubber bands, but this makes it require more strength to reload. For Biscuit Head's flipper, I used two XL motors geared 3:1 (I think so, I don't remember exactly) powered by a Buwizz 3.0 battery. Biscuit Head's flipper is triggered with a pull-and-release gear mechanism, similar to the one in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/enjPZ6Ktra-mh6s
@dgarbett97242 жыл бұрын
@@outworkrobotics I thought so! Yeah, to get that sort of power must take its toll. I'll give it a go. Thanks. What do you use to control your bots? IR? Bluetooth or other?
@outworkrobotics2 жыл бұрын
@D Garbett To control my Buwizz bots, I use an app called Brick controller 2 to connect the battery to a PS4 controller. My bots with 100% Lego electronics use the ir controllers

Nice, what motor did you use for the spinners?
@outworkrobotics3 жыл бұрын
Corny, Ravenclaw, and Big Daddy Dirtbag use a train motor for their weapon, Halo uses an xl motor with a 5:1 gear ratio, and Meat uses an 8287 motor.

Are they automated? If yes: HOW?! If no: keep practicing controlling them. No offence, but they feel really “slow” and if it wasn’t from the amazing destruction, I’d say it’s pretty boring. There is always room for amelioration and I’m sure you’re doing really good two years later.
@outworkrobotics Жыл бұрын
These bots are not automated. This is a really old tournament, and the bots are faster and way more destructive now.

@@jackieglade I broke one XL motor and one train motor in fights long before I started filming these fights for KZbin. The second XL motor broke when I programmed Hoss wrong. When I turned him on, the lifter motors began to uncontrollably turn the lift arm and did not stop when the arm reached its farthest possible point. Somehow, one of the motors survived.
