Fun fact: that yellow looking color, which originated on this set and appears in a few others later, like the 2009 Mata Nui canister set, has been given the fan name "keetorange". Pretty cool.

@@jurekmc if you compare these pieces side by side with true lego yellow, it is pretty obvious that way to see the orangeish color. It's definitely pretty tough to decern without another yellow color to compair to, and it would have made more sense to call it Keetyellow, but it doesn't have the same ring, I guess. Regardless, it 100% looks more yellow than orange.

I have a fascinating history with Keetongu. When the 2005 Titans sets were on shelf, my parents let me pick one. Being a little innocent kid, I picked Keetongu because I only knew him as a good guy. Thinking back, I should have picked Roodaka. That being said, I still have Keetongu standing in my shelf.

I bought this set from you during the big sale! This guy was always a low-key grail for me, so when I saw he was still available I snatched him right up! I also found a solution to the ankle issue, I took the rubberized ball joints (which have aged very well) from a 2015 Bionicle set and now I have no issues standing him up, apart from one knee being a tad loose. Super fun set and seeing some of these pieces in colors I haven't seen in years made me really nostalgic.

I do remember they began phasing out the rubberised joints post brutaka titan in favour of stiff pistons which fixed stability issues in a lot of heavier sets. These long pistons worked great in posability but limited movement to purely front/back which for knee joints works a lot better.

I got Keetongu earlier this year, and I was kinda underwhelmed by it honestly, espeecially since keetorange is one of my favourite Lego colours. The shield function is amazing, but the really simple left arm, super chunky feet, and barely posable head felt like steps backward from what we'd gotten before. I didn't mind though, since I got it used and mostly just for the parts. I'm really looking forward to the Sirdorak and Roodaka reviews though. I know they have some of those issues (especially with the chunky feet), but from what I've seen, they have so much more to them that Keetongu doesn't. Plus, they were amazing villains in the movie. Unfortunately though, I haven't seen any available on Bricklink here in Australia since adding them to my wishlist last year, although I haven't checked in the last month or so (trying to spend less money at the moment).

Bionicle a big part of my childhood In grade 3 I tried fitting in a group in school who gotten in to Bionicle I was a bit of an outcast so for my birthday I wanted a figure to try fit in with the rest. Keetongu was the figure I got. Which at the time was like brand new. So it was hella cool compared to the older sets. Felt like the coolest kid in the playground. Plus building it with my dad was something truly a good moment in my childhood as building it bought as closer together. Unfortunately in school One of my peers wasn’t a very nice guy When we played Bionicle we would lightly battle eachother playfully but this douche snatched Keetongu of my hands and smashed it to the ground breaking it. All the rest of my peers laughing. Was very upset Don’t get me wrong as kids we do stupid stuff so now I laugh about it. But at the time it was very important figure for me. My folks tried buying me a new one but We could never find it in stock. I always told myself that one day, I will buy it again. Many years later I bought set on eBay and now it sits on my shelf as a tragic reminder and a good one. Building it with my dad was the true highlight. Keetongu was one hell of a set.
