LEGO Blacktron 1 VS Blacktron 2 | Who's Superior?

Blacktron I or Blacktron II... who are the real LEGO Space minifig villains? While the LEGO Space Police would probably say both are an equal threat to the LEGO universe, I would argue that... whoops never mind, no video spoilers here! Watch the video to find out my conclusion!

My headcanon is that blacktron 2 is like what was reborn after blacktron 1 got dissolved by the Space Police and so neo blacktron (BT2) was like the most successful regrouping of the faction with a twist that they now work a special mutagen that causes rapid evolution/mutation (almost like the organization became its own thing like a cult) and even aliens joined their ranks Though Blacktron 1 still remains but they are mainly just small gangs and mercenaries for hire

Those are some really cool thoughts! Thank you for sharing your headcanon :D My headcanon is similar, where both factions exist together as scattered remnants but never quite get along enough to combine forces to take over the galaxy :)

@@minifigsinspace @oedo.4959 9 minutes ago I like @cyborgpunk6668 headcanon about Blacktron 2's origins and how Blacktron 1 & 2 are related to each other. What I would add to that is that Blacktron is similar to Hydra from the Marvel Universe, Hydra agents would sometimes say "if you cut off one head, two more shall take its place" so when the Space Police dissolved Blacktron it was inevitable that they would come back in some form.

That also makes sense If you want to say the anniversary Galaxy explorer is canon to the space line then the fact that a Blacktron 1 ship is tailing them (which is confirmed by the Blacktron ship that came out later) The idea that both Blacktron factions exist as mercenary groups does explain why a Blacktron 1 ship would show up and not a blacktron 2 ship. Perhaps This Galaxy Explorer Mk2 was on its way to join another research group (studying a planet they discovered with potential life? Hense the Bionicle reference) And the Blacktron Merc spotted them and was tailing them to find out what they were doing? Going with that... Since they were most likely studying a Toa Mata Cannister there that means the timeline has a date. The cannister was on the island of Mata Nui on aqua magna But at the end of the Series the island was destroyed when Mata Nui awakened meaning the cannister were most likely destroyed with it. Meaning the spacemen had to of found it before Mata nui's awakening. And since there's really no chance no one would have not seen them land I want to say that means they arrived after the Matoran, Toa, and Turaga returned to Metru nui within Mata Nui's Body.

My head cannon was always Blacktron 1 was more militaristic and Blacktron 2 was more scientific so you had the grunts and elites fighting on the ground and you had the best, brightest and most tested on in space to test what works best on the ground

Love this video and it's great to see content focused on this era and theme of Lego. With so many factions from the late 80's through to the 90's there's a lot that can be imagined or speculated on especially the relationships between the different factions so I very much look forward to what you can come up with regarding that on your great channel.

White can also be the colour of death, like a pale rider on a white horse being a horseman of the apocalypse, so it could be that Future Generation is going for a more scorched earth approach and the white uniforms represent death. Or well when I was a kid I associated white space men with cosmonauts so naturally I went for the Blacktron sets first.

I love both Blacktron 1&2 equally with regards to everything from the colour scheme to ship design however looking at it objectively Blacktron 1 exemplifies the best the core ethos of what they're about as both the characters, ships and vehicles look more intimidating and menacing.

I totally see what you mean, those are good thoughts. While I do personally favor Blacktron I, Blacktron II is certainly a great faction in itself. I'm happy to see that both continue to get fairly equal representation from LEGO.

I think only the lower ranking Blacktrons wear the white...so they like you said can impersonate goodguys. I almost wonder if these suits are made cheaper and less resiliant...given the Blacktron mutant is wearing that suit.. The higher ranking Blacktron members wear all black. Perhaps the Upside-down triforce on the Blacktron 1 sets indicates there elites? Going by the minifigs that have the 1st symbol looking alot more serious and intimidating

​@minifigsinspace thank you. Also thinking about it. Blacktron apparently has been confirmed to have Alien members. Hence the one Alien Pilot minifig. It's possible the Blacktron Mutant could the result of experiments on themselves.
