Tony, as a avid LEGO collector, KEEP THE BOXES. The boxes can be flattened without damage. The box tells you the set info. All instructions are online, so it's just the boxes.

I have always heard from collectors to keep the boxes. Sometimes the box hold more value than the item.

You can always open up the boxes so they stack flat and not take up much space. Kind of like how pizza boxes start out as a flat sheet and get folded into a box.

I’m like you, Tony, and I tried to keep the boxes. Alas, I have a small house, and the empty boxes started to overload the Legos that I had put together. So I got rid of them. I’ve bought a few Legos online from EBay, and they came in storage bags and the manuals. I went to Dollar tree store and got numerous collapsible file boxes and put my manuals, numerically. My DH and I watch your cruising channel. You’re so informative and funny. We’re going to Alaska for my 70th birthday in July and really looking forward to seeing the beautiful scenery.

I subscribe to your cruise channel and love it. I am not a Lego builder or collector but you make it seem so exciting and fun. Probably should keep the boxes, seems like any collectible is more valuable with the original box. Can’t wait to see your Lego room when you get it set up.
@sandydieterich57407 ай бұрын
My suggestion for the boxes is to keep the front of each box. Use a utility knife and cut off just the front. Then attach the instructions in a baggie to the back. They will store better and take up less space. You could also write when you bought it and assembled it on the back.
@BettyRobinson-gg5tz7 ай бұрын

I would make the bookcases in the lego room look more built in by placing all 4 against the back wall and then putting the hallax unit on the wall to the right of the door. You can then add the ledge shelves over the hallax to display more legos, or even use some boxes as decore on the wall. You can hang the boxes with double stick 3m velcro. I'd then float the desk in the center of the room over an area rug. Congratulations on the new house. If you need free decorating advice, please reach out.

Tony, just remember that all this packing, moving boxes & totes, and building furniture counts toward your daily movement and exercise goals. This can only help on your weight loss journey. I attended a virtual conference today. They mentioned that losing a half pound a week is GOOD progress. Slow but steady wins the race. Converting fat to muscle is also good. I don't build Legos, but I am interested in how you will organize and display your Legos
@amandagreen43327 ай бұрын
Keep all the boxes you have the room for. As others have mentioned, flattening saves space. You should probably make your tossing decisions when the stress of the move is over!

As I grow older I realize… I’d rather prioritize space for the set then keep hundreds of flatten Lego boxes that really have no use for me. But I would say keep the ones you find really appealing and have a special place in your inner child heart
@pickypants96966 ай бұрын
As a long term eBay seller, the original boxes matter A LOT for resale value. Especially the older they get. Definitely keep them. Just flatten them and they won't take up much room. 😊
@lindafarnes4867 ай бұрын
Conversely, if you keep the boxes, and you find a way of protecting the boxes from the damp, the mold and the insects, you will need some sort of expandable storage area and a filing system of some sorts. Given Lego is lifetime, you may also want a catalogue system detailing, name, year, location.

My son tosses boxes and keeps instructions. To give yourselves more space you could hang all the aircraft and spaceships from the ceiling. That’s what my son does, use thin wire for the really big ships. The massive one(is it the star destroyer? About 3 1/2 feet long) he obviously leaves on a shelf 🤔😳

Tony, I seem to agree with the majority here. Flatten the boxes, size them, tie them up & keep them in the storage room. Not sure if you have attic space but assume in Florida that you do not have a basement. Manuals can go in file boxes to be stored with the flattened boxes. I do have a question tho. Didn't your new house have closets in the bedrooms?? Or is this something new with new construction? I don't have any lego stuff but I do find alot of the builds fascinating & you make it so much more interesting to learn. Thanks & much luck & happiness in your new home! from Spring Grove PA
