LEGO Cave & Hill MILS Plate Detail!

Today I continue working on the giant hill MILS plate that sits between the campground and the ocean. Specifically, I add cave details, blend in the hill, and add wildlife/plants. Once that is done I place it in the LEGO city and discuss the future plans for the area.

The inside detail in the cave really 'ROCKS' (pun intended). Also, I think you have the perfect amount of trees on the hillside interspersed well.

I feel those houses by the beach should be pushed down, the fishing shack should be pushed back 1/2 base plate. That way the wall would transition better in back, and the beach work would blend easier for you with the new tiles and such...just a thought

Ive been recently "reintruduced" to lego, i didnt realize that lego was doing so much with 18+ now. Your videos are awesome, and this one gave me an idea for a cave and water moc of the goonies. Oh man i need bricks, lots and lots of bricks.

I really like the sapplings on the hill, it gives the idea that reforestation is being carried out in that area, and it does not overshadow the campground.

Any thoughts on turning the Old Fishing Store 90 degrees and having the pier lead out to the lighthouse? You could modify the MILS plate it's on to have water on both sides of the pier, but at least then you'd have a way to access that lighthouse from the land. Just an idea =) Keep up the great work Bricksie!

Looks great! Only one suggestion- The Lighthouse is usually on some kind of a point, furthest from the shore, right? Can't wait to see it when you' re done!

The hidden side shrimp boat would look good in the water by the lighthouse and matches the fishing cabin really well

Bricksie, rotated your fishing store, put it behind the lighthouse. Then with only a few modifications, you could blend it in. Would help hide the cave entrance as well, while explaining why the fishing store is so badly maintained. That it also lets you put the lighthouse back to the edge..... Bonus. As for the italian section, can you connect it's channel to the river, near the mountain?

I think pushing the old fishing shack back half a plate would make the water feel bigger and deeper if you want to add a ship that would need deep water.

Another thing you could do is add stuff from indiana Jones into the cave such as a boulder and his minifigure. I'd really like to see this amount of moc detail for the ninjago city set area on the platform!

oke, so your cave inspired me to think how cool it would be if you would create an underwater city under the parts where you have the ocean, and placed it under the lego city! Atlantis like sets and just in general deep see scenes! :D

I think the interior of the cave would look better with black and dark grey rather than light grey, to simulate it being a dark environment. Light grey makes it as bright as the outside.

I hope you do a giant tree like Rivendell has on top that has a secret entrance to the cave via a branch that has grown into it and maybe have someone selling a treasure map in the city

This looks awesome. Enjoying the content! Trying to be creative while tending to young kiddos is extremely hard. Hang in there! Seeing your cave next to the lighthouse got me thinking about the Goonies movie. You should do a pirate ship breaking free from the cave into the harbor. Would look so cool and would be a fitting front corner for your city. Keep up the great work. You and Mrs. Bricksie are fast approaching the point when kiddos get much easier.

I think fishing boats should be near the fishing shack. Or maybe some kind of tourist boat for whale watching or something. I am surprised a sneaky batman didn't end up in the cave hehe. Also surprised you didn't have any of those large 5 point crystal rocks in various colours in there with all the trans blocks. It's coming together excellently on that hill though. I think the large rock panels look good. It looks more like a cliff, where the slope piece rock builds look like it is a bunch of loose rock that has been falling away. Which works on their respective sides of the build well. Those big panels are working for you though! I love seeing the progress of your city :)

Only suggestion is at the cliff edge of the hill you could put a cabin that over hangs the cliff on stilts or as previously suggested an observatory

You should put some sort of obstacle where the path horse shoes, like a crevice or a giant bolder, other wise the bend in the path right there doesn’t make a lot of sense

If this was a Hardy boys novel there would be and old cottage/but on the top of the hill with a trap door down into the cave used by smugglers. But it's not so maybe some picnic tables +/- telescope lookout sort of thing. Anyway it's looking great.

When you first were talking about adding gems and stuff I was excepting the actual gem pieces but I love what you did with the transparent pieces. Awesome stuff! You should try to get the series 12 cmf prospector and throw them down there with a crate of the gem pieces! I do like the skeleton though. Great stuff!

Looks awesome, I like the creek into a wider area, the logs in the water etc, just looks so good. I makes me wish I had the parts and space to do my city idea, I want to have a creek on the outskirts of town that flows under the highway with a bridge and down to a lake. Then on the opposite side of it from the town be a forest area, then farmland, a hill/mountain with a road up it for cabins. My city idea isn't just a typical flat city, it's similar to how yours is done with more details in terrain etc. But maybe my ideas leans to more detail. I'm inspired by lego city undercover or a lower mainland BC/Alberta feel
