Can I make a suggestion to what you can do with that ditch you created? How about making it an excavation area where they are digging up dinosaur fossils. Since you have a history museum in your city with a big dinosaur fossil, now you have a place where they have found the fossils. That would be very unique because I haven't seen a Lego city on KZbin with an excavation area. And you can use tan bricks to do that and save on your green plates and slopes. hehe. Love your channel and keep up the great work

Instead of all green for the edge, you could use a top green brick then brown or gray underneath for dirt or rock, then you could add in some dino bones or other buried things on the sides of your build

Once the road crosses the river, it should split, one road going back down to the tunnel, one going up to the campground, and another one going left to the winter village.
@BrickBuiltLabs2 күн бұрын
You might want to consider giving varied elevation to the river itself as well, allowing you to add rapids/white water/waterfalls. Especially for a river that's carved away a canyon like you have.
@DJDexterityakaPsyDexКүн бұрын
Yes, this. I'm intrigued to the routes of all the rivers as well. It would be cool to have the central mountain river join another and flow off the table somewhere

The hole you created looks like a good place for an old quarry with a little water in the bottom and rock sides. My two cents. It looks great and I think the angled gravel road is a great addition. Nicely done.

Future consideration. What do all city's have on top of hills (and try to hide). A water tower. Camo it with trees or put "Bricksie City" on it.

With your 3D printers, can you print up some underlying structure supports? Not anything duplicating Lego bricks, but perhaps taller and/or skinnier versions of the containers you’re making and flip those upside down on the base plates and put plate on top? Or print up something that would help secure the Lego IKEA boxes to base plates? (Quite possibly not cost effective nor the direction you want to go in, but a possible option.)

Your river bank that you worked on today would be a great place for a cave! Use that height to your advantage.

Suggestion for depression: Have a small stream come off the river and run into or along the depression and make a wetland. The LEGO cattails look really good. Add some ducks, etc. Or make a swamp with an alligator.
@Angrist172 күн бұрын
That's looking *really* good. The road is amazing. Any gaps can easily be hidden with some bushes and trees too. For that little 'ditch', it doesn't *need* anything in it. Just some vegetation would be fine. Real landscapes have that kind of features. For the creek, it doesn't need to be flat and at the bottom of the baseplate. You could build that up a few bricks and then step it down as it goes. That could become rapids or rocks and pools like a real river too. It would look great.

To the left of your road, you have an area that drops down. You could make that a pond with a waterfall flowing down into it and then into the river. Or you could create a cave going into the mountain and have some bears or campsite inside the cave.

I would like to do a large city build, but I think it would be “fun” to do things in the same order as real life. Land is first. Then old boats and cabins. Then old fashioned buildings. Then a steam railroad. Then roads and more modern styles. And just keep building the town in chronological order, including moving old buildings and replacing them with newer ones. Capture the whole city evolving on video.

The height variation is going to look great. Just to break up the gray rock work, turning the ravine into more of a Grand Canyon coloration might be a nice alternative. A chance to work in various browns, reds, etc where the river sort of have carved through the clay almost. I think i saw it already mentioned in another comment, but an old wood covered bridge would look nice stretching across the water as well.

When making mountains make sure you make most of the brick upright but at an angle. This is how the rock is naturally on a real mountain. Because of the techtonic plates moving and smooshing the rock upward. It never goes horizontal. Hope this helps. Google images will help a ton withaking it super realistic. Love the progress. Keep up the awesome 😎

I know that you say that one of the problems with the Ikea boxes is that they don't lock in with the underlying base plate. Have you tried using 2x2 corner bricks (L-shaped bricks)on the four corners of the Ikea box to "lock" it into place. This way you can save pieces on the elevated areas. Also....glad to hear that your dog is doing well.
@theresnoplacelikeholmes28612 күн бұрын
If you order the 2x3 wedge plates in reddish brown, your 2 mils plates won’t have to be connected. They have the same angle as the dark tan ones you are using. 👍🏻
