michaelmgf don't want to be rude or anything, but the new capes are amazing. They feel like actual capes. Also, whenever I played with my Lego Batman minifigure, the cape would always turn around to the front. It was so annoying. These new capes don't so I think that's great.

I think the super jumpers are the reason for those new capes; they're made out of a new material so the cape won't get in the way of using it. Either that or so the minifigures can sit down more easily without having to take off the cape or damaging it, which would explain the normal material on martian manhunter.

The old capes sucked, they were stiff, ripped easily, crumpled and ruffled and these new capes solve all of the issues, you say different purely because you open the sets with these old capes and never touched them again

As has been stated before, the new capes don't bend and crease when the minifigure is put in a vehicle. This is something I've wanted for a while. I personally haven't gotten any of the new capes in-hand yet, but from what I can tell they seem to be a nicer material, the old ones feel cheap to me. The Martian Manhunter, who is actually based on his pre-52 appearance, has the old material for the collar because the new material likely wouldn't be able to stand up static like that.

I actually think the only problem w/ the new capes is the width around the neck. Otherwise I really like the way that you can put them in a seat of a ship without them getting creased, as well as them not rotating as much (which is amazing for brickfilmers). I think Lego made the right call here.

The new capes are more comfortable and if you wanna carry them in pockets they don't fold up. Plus the whole point of capes are that they feel light. The old one are really hard and uncomfortable. The light cloth idea is not a shame.

I completely understand why these capes we changed, for your reason of course changed to be compatible with other hair pieces but alsi changed for avoiding crinkles when putting them in vehicles now i understand superman and supergirl dont need to sit in vehicles them selves but look at batman he always has to sit in vehicles like the batboat in 2013 the artic batman so much little space you were probobly forced to remove his cape..or just cram it in there and ruin it now it might suck that the old capes are not returning but it might be for the good of the figures.

Unfortunately I don't see the first idea of yours happening since there would have to be 7 heroes plus one or more villains which makes a total of at least 8 figures and considering arkham asylum has 8 figures, I would say it would have to be about a 200$ set which at that price would most likely be a large building which could mean a watchtower set however that would be quite difficult to make so yeah...

I don't particularly like the new capes either. One thing that may help the neckline is if you put the right flap over the left flap rather than left over right when you put the cape on it makes it more even and a better visual aesthetic, and almost takes out the weird scarf effect.

I found a good technique for removing the minifig from the super jumper. Not sure if I discovered it, but it works really well. What you do is move the arms up and pull the figure off to the side

I like your reviews because you don't kiss Lego's ass all the time. Everyone else always states "It's amazing and this theme is amazing and this wave is amazing" to every set or theme. Like I love Lego but come on they make mistakes sometimes. However on the capes topic I believe they're for characters with vehicles like Batman who's cape often gets ruined by putting him in a vehicle.

MGF this has nothing to do with this vid but I was wondering what type of paint, painting utensil you use to make your amazing customs and what type of modeling clay or whatever it is use to make all the little custom parts like the flash lightning bolts or the baby groot and adult groots head? I think I hate how Awesome your thumbnail is! It took me longer than it should have to get this set! I do have to disagree with you on the capes. Although they do look a bit odd around the neck but other than that my capes look fine! I've gone through several capes over the years and it's a pain to keep purchasing Batman capes over and over and over again just because they start fraying or bending. Also it's easier to put them in ships and vehicles. Nice review! :D

I was mad about the new capes and so I found the old ones that matched the ones from this set and it worked. Super girl does not need a new cape the old one works fine with it, just the cape may get a little squished.

FYI, the exclusive Martian Manhunter minifig was the New 52 design. This one is more like the original appearance. There aren't any New 52 designs in this set, which I'm thoroughly disappointed about. Great review!

The hair pieces are only part of why there are these new capes. The main reason is the old capes could get ruined too easily if you put the figure in a vehicle. These new softer capes will prevent the capes getting bent.

Dude, the old capes don't look "normal" either. As soon as you said that I grabbed my nearest Batman with the old style of cape and tried to make it rest naturally. It then stuck out awkwardly just like the softer capes. Honestly, what's the big deal? Besides appearing too puffy at the neck, the new capes feel more durable, high quality, and like a real cape. I simply don't see your point.

I don't know what is wrong with these capes. The set says the age limit is 6-12, so the capes are now more durable and KIDS will be able to play with them without the material creasing or getting messed up. This new material feels a little more expensive, while the old one felt like sandpaper.
