Ride suggestions!!! Move the castle structure to the top curve and the pirate ship to the bottom and the splash effect at the peak of the drop. This will establish a water level, so part of the ride is "underwater" and then part above. Makes more sense with all of the underwater features, and the splash effect represents the ride going through the water surface!

Oh no. That sounds far too complicated as I'll have to raise the buildings on stilts, although I see it does make sense!

You should have the big shark either at the top of the ride, where the skull is, or at the bottom by the splashing water. Maybe you could even create a lever that would make the shark lunge at the rollercoaster cars as they come down the hill.

In my amusement park what I did with the pirate coaster is I set up an arctic sea battle between Batman taking on Mr Freeze and the penguin since my amusement park in my city is DC superhero themed and it was the only logical way I could not only fill the coaster interior but also use those 2 villans.

Robin : "I may have too many rides by now..." Also Robin : "Let's add another enormous roller coaster !" 😄 I really can't realise how all the rides will fit... This clutch gear is also used in the wind turbine that you have at the other end of the city. I know it because after three years of resisting after the release, i finally bought it last year after seeing it integrated in your city... Damn you, Robin, you make me break my bank account for this ! 😉 Some suggestions as always, to have a better access to the middle part and open the view for us, big figs, i would remove the skull gate and replace it by the sunken ship. By doing this, the left-front of this ride will be much more open for minifigs to access the middle part. OR, if you add the swinging boat in the middle as some suggested, leave the skull door and only remove the sunken ship because it becomes duplicate. I liked the double-seats carts. It may be the odd tested color that deceived you. If you keep the carts as it is, i would replace the 1x4 curved slope in the front car by a 1x2 tile and cheese slope, because it's the only curved part of the carts for now. The shark is cool but seems to big to be part of a non-permanent ride. Keep it for your cabinet. ;) Also, as some suggested, i would put the slash effect in a pool, and not underground. One, it will be easier to do instead of remaking all the castle, two, because of the itinerant fairground. They can't dig so many holes in this poor farm field ! Pool that you may also use to integrate the swinging boat, why not. With so many (lovely!) projects in progress at the moment, i hope to see them finished before moving on to anothers big (secrets or not) projects. Don't spread out too much. Good luck ! :)
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree on not spreading out too much. I need to finish the Bugle and Train, then build new stuff alongside the Fairground. I kinda want to do Undersea stuff but won't yet. Good ideas on the ride. It will be placed end on, so the ship will be at the back left. I've no idea how it'll fit so some swapping of features may be a good shout!
@BlockHeadUK
@BlockHeadUK 2 жыл бұрын
Great that you managed to fix the mechanism. I would also consider gearing down the chain drive a bit, as it does really chuck the coaster carriages up at high speed! Might look a bit more realistic if it were a bit slower, although it still has to have enough momentum at the top, obviously.

Too fun! When you situate the ride on the green plates in the fairground you can create a water feature for the coaster car powered splash segment without adding height to the whole ride. You have your subterranean motor area. For the splash pond, you could use trans & watery pieces instead of green grassy plates and even create some visual depth for it into where the motors are concealed.

It's unnecesary to give it a push, as the clutch gear is a bigger diameter/has more teeth. so the chain goes faster. (motor same rpm, more teeth pass in one round) so the ride gets a bigger push from the top, giving it enough enartia to go around the flat bit.

I love this set. It is gonna look great in the fairgrounds. With the skull at the top of the hill you could make the bottom look more like the lower jaw of the skull so the riders are going into the mouth of the skull before the find the wrecked pirate ship. Also instead of the shark you could maybe make it the giant squid with the legs upward sort-of like a kraken. Then you'll have room for another ride in the middle.

Love your conversions/improvement builds as always Robin. My thought through the whole video though was, this seems more a 'permanent' amusement park ride, rather than the travelling fair ground look you had been going for? The fortress structure especially lends to this feeling. Am sure travelling fairgrounds can have roller coasters, but the structure and more so the big shark make it seem like more of a permanent attraction. Could you hide the motor in a van or truck similar to how you used the truck in your GBC Factory? Perhaps with some fish/pirate stickers on the side?
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 2 жыл бұрын
I take your point with the rock, but maybe it is a natural feature and not a motor casing? Also the fort may be cardboard/flatpack? I may have to make a couple more "motor caravans, but I may also be freeing some up when I install the rides. I'm not going to know until I do it. Too many pieces to plan!

Looks like a great ride, and I think you could lower it fairly easily if you just built the whole thing in on shorter supports, and filled in the space in-between with the regular, higher ground level. I'd also suggest shrinking the dorsal fin so it's not in the middle rider's face; incorporating tentacles in the splash zone, so it looks like the ride and the fort are under attack from a kraken; and making the skull larger so the ride goes through its open mouth.

What scene isn't made better with tentacles? Yes!

Would you consider at slowing down the motor and pausing the ride a tad and so the minifigs travel up on the chain alot slower 🤔 like other roller coasters do?
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will reliably have enough oomph to get around if slower, although that might be more realistic and suspenseful!

I think the tail and head should remain the same but the body could be a 2 seater just to add a little fleshing out at the middle. Is this a kid's version of the main roller coaster?

Awesome job Robin. As I always say, you can never have too many cannons!😆I was wondering if you could add more water pieces for the splash.

Golly... Your future plans will make it seem like less of a travelling ride... Idk: I like what it'll bring to the table, but I wonder, why the issue goes unaddressed...?
@jillianogrady4621
@jillianogrady4621 2 жыл бұрын
I agree. A travelling ride wouldn’t have a section that is sunk into the ground. Definitely keep it above, and perhaps create an edge around the water, like a pool that can be packed up and put in the back of a truck.

Maybe they are making use of some natural water. The buildings will be a flatpack made of boards!

Very cool ride! That new gear may have been bigger, so it translates to more rotation (therefore power) even with the same motor speed?

Love this. Now you've got the clutch gear in. I really think you should look more into the double seated carts as this would make it a different style ride to the red roller coaster. Might be cool to have the shark mouth at the top of the hill lift instead of the skull.

I dident build my roller coster to track plans i got more roller coaster tracks an made it 4x biger. So no plans free stile building I fount the carts roll good on the tracks an the blue ones i got from city rocket discovery center set are best cats run so smooth. But its odd the cats in the big roller coaster set manny had proplem s with their carts sticking in part of the track s. If only yousing wind up hand crank part the carts may run better one s powerd up. But I fount cats from city rocket discovery set the best..run smooth an farst .even if pushing .the carts .first time I Sean the 3 in 1 powerd up. Cool as. I need chain link s robin. Help lol. But my sets in stiridge ATM. Oh well the big roller coaster is so so big. Aint it. An I'm adding to. My set. .i moved that white skull up higher to as it was hitting mini figs heads. But it look good that part a that little ship build is rad as. ..great vid robin .thanks
