I couldn't stop laughing when I watched this. I mean what were they thinking!? Even if there were specifically designed smaller track it still wouldn't be able to use them because the wheel base is so RIDICULOUSLY LONG that it's impossible for that thing to turn! No of the less, certainly hilarious though. 🤣🚄

The set is not meant to be run on any tracks, it's dust a display model. a straight 4 stud gauge track can be built for it from rail track pieces

It doesn't fit properly but it's the old 12 volt track, try eBay and need to change wheels so it can go around corners. look at 5.58

@@MADABOUTLEGO i agree the dual gauge curves are annoying to make tbf as ive tried to make a narrow gauge track before. If i were to critisize the 3d printed 4 stud track it would be that they should get a dimpled bottom or something like that so you can put em on baseplates

It's running on old 12 volt system, eBay or bricklink. but it's not proper track for it.

From any good toy shop as LEGO still make the train, The motor from eBay as the track too. It's ok but better with a proper train.

Hey, Madaboutlego. I am considering purchasing this same train, that is, the 40518. Would you happen to know the track gauge/axle width for this model, preferably in cm.s? I can see you have built in extra, middle rail, which is a nice solution, but I am considering using some other rails I purchased for another train type.
