Yeah I do find that Icons sets tend to be really well priced. This is going to be very popular I feel, especially with Christmas around the corner. Maybe my wife will buy it for me for Christmas🙏

The promo really is an excellent tie-in, especially the two minifigures. I wish it wasn't releasing in November lol, Black Friday is going to be a very costly week so I may have to wait for it

Normally I would be on this day one, but it has dropped at a bad time with so many sets being retired that I have been wanting, waiting for a deal and nothing much turned up. Time is running out and the Creator Castle 3in1, Freight Train, A frame house and Sanctum Santorum are calling to me, and I require I do not know how many Creator Castles, but its a LOT, there are 3 MOCs I want that use 11 sets between them, plus another dozen that I also would like. Plus Christmas is just 6 Weeks away! So ebaying that promo, and buying the set in the New Year when my accountant/financial advisor stops giving me the cold glare of death.

Yeah that's kind of where I am, so many big sets retiring this year that I'm concentrating on. I may have to pass on the Endurance for now and like you, pick up the promo off ebay.

Yeah that was my hope too, but can see what Lego are doing with it, its a display set like Titanic I just hope Lego do more ships in the future but minifigure scale. Even though its a warship, I would give anything for a HMS Victory Lego set, that would be epic

I think if the size was increased a bit they could've made this minifigure compatible. Now I'm kinda on the fence about it.

Yeah that would have been a very nice bonus, but like Concord and Titanic its very much a display piece. The promo really makes it hard no to buy on release day

@@TheDyslexicGeak The Titanic and Concorde is understandable to be at micro scale because of their massive size and lack of play value. The Endurance is of adequate size and given that it's an explorer ship, there's lots of play value. I agree that the promos are enticing.

I love Lego but just buy a wooden model ship. I built two of them and they look wonderful. The instructions are way better and there's plenty of help on KZbin. A good brand is Mantua but there are others.

I do not have the skill or patience to build a wooden ship kit. I would love to be able to, but I get as far as the planking and give up. I will stick to lego as I find it therapeutic to sit and build without having to think too much

Oh I know exactly what you mean, I used to love building the Airfix kits etc, not wooden of course but similar.
