This is by far my favourite channel on this platform right now - every video is so well thought-out and ends up with an awesome result. Such a cool city, and very professional presentation.

@@rebricks, I'm confidant you could cornerfy the Parisian, and really curious what that would look like.

Thanks for sharing, liked it a lot! I thought of suggesting to put the train stop on the side of the assembly square, but you'd have to move the train tracks then...

Love the delivery window and the whole courtyard idea, can’t wait to see the entire block done. For the corner building, since it’s a busy street with the trolley and all, the grand emporium could look nice! The boutique hotel is a favorite too, but it might be too hidden in that corner.
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
oooh yeah the grand emporium... I don't have much tan in the city... I do like the boutique hotel, but its a bit Miami for my taste... 😬

I like the modifications you made. Especially with the chminey for the pizza oven extending out of the back. I'm a little confused about the delivery window of the pizza shop going directly into the bookstore though. I think a little alley separating the bookstore and pizza shop might work better. That way you can add details like bicycle or scooter delivery people getting pizzas passed to them to make deliveries. you could also replace that window you removed from the back of the building to the same side as the delivery window, or even a few four stud wide windows. Maybe string a clothesline between the pizzeria and the bookstore or something. I dunno, it looks great as it is.
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
The window opens up into the alleyway next to/under the bookshop. It’s a colonnade. It was really hard to get a camera angle because it’s like dead center of my table lol.

You should build some sort of corner mall like the grand emporium. Not exactly like the set since it's super expensive, but something like that could be cool
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
Grand Emporium is something I've considered, but I don't have it, and you're right, its expensive now! I might look at what it would cost to purchase pieces for it. Sometimes that's cheaper, depending on how many pieces I already have.

Ooh, one modification suggestion, (not sure if this is for you, but I'm not super into the colour on the original set) is replacing the ground floor dark azure with dark blue - I like the way that brings out more of an accent with the sign
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
Interesting idea. I can see how that would look good!
@cow1 Жыл бұрын
I think the green house looks better at it's original direction. But I'm not entirely sure how to fix that with the chimney change. Also, I have an extra floor and a different sign for the jazz club. But I will be stealing this for the pizza shop.
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
Its funny, but I had actually recorded essentially the same thing that you said about the greenhouse. Its built sideways, so it needs to be in the wall, but that would put it up against the chimney, which just doesn't work IMO. I've also thought about adding another floor to the Jazz Club, but I want to wait and see until I place the next building!
@cow17 ай бұрын
@@rebricks Coming back to this video, you did the chimney and side much better than I did on my modifications. Gotta retouch up mine a bit. Mine is much more heavily modified using the 2 friends sets "Heartlake City Restaurant" and "Heartlake City Pizzeria" the foundation is medium nougat, front windows have the arches on the top, the pizza sign from the pizzeria, and a little seating area in the front with the short white fences and tan floor from the restaurant set. I also changed black SNOT brick holding the tailor sign to light bluish grey and the flowers to lavender to match the sign since those bugged me. I may also change the dark red to dark blue like the set was originally planned to have. But I'll have to look at that in stud io before I decide that big of a change. Oh, and when I'm listing my changes. The sign for the jazz club is the one Robin Hood Bricks. And the extra floor is Radio Floor Extension from Tiny Bricks on rebrickable. I forgot to in my original comment.

Great s.tuff man. Could you see yourself making some of your modifications available on Rebrickable or similar? This one doesn’t seem so complex and could be easy to recreate something similar, but your Corner Brich Books and Assembly Square are quite complex and I know I’d like to do something similar but some sort of guide would make things a lot easier.
@rebricks Жыл бұрын
I am planning on it, yes. I only have so much Lego time and so far I've wanted to spend it building. I might do some casual live streams where I work on instructions and chat, but I'm still figuring that out. The corner bookshop will probably be the first instructions I make though.

There's a link in the description to the equipment I use. The first one, the DJI Phone Gimble, is the best investment I think I've made for this channel so far. If you already have a phone, its a pretty reasonable purchase (I think its like $160) for how well it works and what it enables you to do.
