Independent, #NotSponsored, unscripted fan review of the LEGO Minecraft Frozen Peaks set, new for 2023 with 304 pieces, one player minfig, Stray, Creeper, and goat. It has a balance of indoor & outdoor spaces, a fair number of accessories, and a brand new (for LEGO) color for a full suit of player armor. Is it unannounced emerald armor or just dyed leather, though?

The orange under the tree is meant to be podzol, with the mushrooms on it, and the bucket is more likely filled with powder snow, but I guess one can imagine it to be anything

Definitely agree about the shape. It really feels like a chunk of terrain that's simply been lifted out of the game.

Adore this set, very nice little terrain build. I do believe the milk bucket is meant to be a powder snow bucket, considering the theming.

Oh and it is likely leather armor, as leather armor specifically protects you from freezing damage and leather boots prevent you from sinking into powder snow.

@@deviousdubious1630 I mean, isn't leather the only vanilla option? Unless Lego is suddenly choosing to begin making sets for mods, it's definetly not emerald. Despite that, it CAN be used as emerald armor. Nothing prevents you from using it for that.

That's what I thought, it's probably powedered snow, but the set does include a Goat, so I guess it could be both.

Now that Lego has more skin tone variety, they should give Steve a slightly darker skin tone, which would be more accurate and should hopefully allow for better printing on the head.

I really like this little mountain design. As you said it makes sense and i think the light blue color makes it look nice as well. I think the green armor is just there to make Steve a bit more interesting to look at. It adds a bit of a bright splash to the set in general.

I love the Stray Minifigure. I have the Igloo with the original Version with a cloth piece. I'm kinda mad they gave the Stray in this Set a gold armour. Feels like an excuse for not giving it it's cape. Maybe it's cheeper but it just looks off. Would have been nice to get but hey, there's always Bricklink to buy the cape. Also, i think it's just green leather armour with maybe a turtle shell helmet.

I believe that red cherry element is meant to signify sweet berries picked from the plant in that small section of taiga.

I wonder if LEGO will ever change Steve’s skin tone to be more accurate. I think eventually they will. Just look at how long it took them to fix the clones. (Rip angry clone head)

Being someone who doesn't care about Steve's armour colour, I've decided it's made of tree frogs and tennis court grass with green paint to add colour re-enforced with chicken wire.

I like the emerald ore being exposed like that, really helps sell that this is supposed to be high up on a mountain (the only time emerald ore generates exposed to air above-ground).

2:34 I believe the tan 1x2 tile is a cooked pork chop. The piece is used in medium nougat for bread.

I think Darkutilities is one mod that adds Emerald Armor. So having played nothing but modded MC for years and years. Emerald tools and armor have just been a staple thing for me.

they should make emerald armour the same defence as iron but it should give you trade discounts when you trade while wearing it

Villagers have the potential to get you a crazy amount of stuff from just a very little amount, so that would make it unnecessarily cheaper.

It fits the vibe of someone's first emergency shelter when it's night I remeber the countless times I packed a bed and crafting table in the situation I was going far so worse case I could spring up a back up shelter in a cave or make a mini dirt house

I dunno if anyone mentioned it, but the green armor is probably the scrapped concept of turtle armor. If it was emerald I'd imagine it would be metallic, and imo it doesn't "feel" like dyed leather either. I mean, there was a red creeper last year, why not turtle armor?

I love Lego Minecraft but I already have so many theams to buy sets from and it's too expensive to get into any more theams. Especially one that is so stylistically different and isn't as easy to integrate into my city
