I wonder if using metal such as nails, paper clips, or sewing needles as rebar could reinforce the brickwork. And a mesh window screen could reinforce the banks, would be interesting to see if it changes anything

Have you ever tried a pump on the down stream side to simulate the water moving down stream. Figured the extra weight of water on the down stream side prevents a lot more destruction on first failure.

The guy in the rightmost chamber died a horrible death. First he almost drowns, the water releases a bit, the when everything comes down, he broke his ribs, and finally got his head stuck in the sand as the water and dirt came in. He suffocated and drowned at the same time, if the crushing water didn't kill him first

Maybe build the face that holds the water at a shallower angle I found that wetting the sand all the way through helps a lot because the surface tension in the water holds the grains together better

That one guy on the top surviving reminds me of those low budget action movies where a group goes for an adventure, encounter something weird and or crazy monster, and only one or two main characters survive by the end😂 That chamber to the left was the safest spot though cuz the water drained out instantly...too bad the guy in it swam out of it and got hit in the head with bricks💀

Why use sand? Its so unstable, every one of these are the same it's not an experiment if nothing changes. Use paper clips as rebar, use putty as concrete, use dirt as terrain. It will last much longer.
