When I select mutiple files it extracts only 1 and skips other files. What might be the problem?

You need to hold down the CTRL button when you select all the .DAT files

you need to remove the _DISC_ file aswell for newer games

does this method work for newer games? I want to have a little fun and swap around character models and change their death voices, like in DC Super villains I want to make it so that all character parts are available from starting a new game, or swap out goons for their respective villain, so a goon can give orders to a group of Jokers or Harleys. can you do a tutorial on that?

Yes they do work for the newer games but you'll need the modified script for that. Link to that is in the discord server. I haven't modded newer LEGO games yet. The newer LEGO Games don't like being modified

Hello there! I have an issue, when I run any of the levels that were in the game (lego star wars the complete saga), this is just black screen and micro characters in the level. What should I do? I installed Bario's order 66 level and put rancor and jabba to the collection.

You need to extract all the .DAT files. Not just GAME.DAT. You need to extract all the EPISODE.DAT files aswell

Hi so I'm using the game Legomarvel superheros 2 and I did all the steps but when I reimport the files its size bigger. So I need to make it smaller or original size again. Do you know how? People are saying I should delete something in the txts like //- - - - -

When you reimport files, they cannot be bigger then the original file. You have to make sure that your modded file or files simply aren't bigger. There is no way around this

@@okbuddy4922 Not using quickbms. The files simply can't be bigger. You can make them smaller but making it bigger will corrupt the .DAT file.

Each character has a name ID in their .txt file. All you have to do is find that ID in English.txt and change it

There are some problems with extracting newer games since the script on the quickbms website wasn't made with those newer games in mind. On the lego modding discord we have made an updated version which you can find in #mod_tools

This will not have any impact on your save file in any way. You are editing the game files. Save files are located in a diffrent location

Is it necessary to run quickbms as Administrator? cuz i did everything u said, got all the extracted files, moved the .DATs away from the game folder, pretty much copied everything u did, but when i ran quickbms i just opened it regularly, and when i edit all the txt files in CHARS nothing changes in the game

I do recommend you run as administrator. But it should just work. Depending on the game there can also be a chars.txr.ftk. (not sure if it is ftk but it is something after .txt) you have will have to delete that file if you wanna make changes to chars.txt

You must extract all .DAT files. Sounds like you maybe didn't extract GAME.DAT

You don't import your files back into the .DAT'S. You just leave them extracted. For newer games like DC Super Villians you will need to remove a file called _DISC_ and use a patched .exe. You can download those from the discord server

@RogerRoger I accidentally opened the dat files with notepad but it nonetheless extracted the files but it only extracted the levels?!?!? Why is only "levels" showing up in my.folder, I'm using lego star wars the complete saga and I just hope I didnt mess anything up

You probably on extracted a EPISODE.DAT. the episode dat files only contain levels. You need to extract ALL .DAT files. That includes GAME.DAT

That would depend on that custom level. The level should come with a README.TXT file which explains how to install the mod

You need to extract every .DAT files. You also need some other files to run LEGO SWTFA extracted which you can find on the LEGO Modding server

Then you have only unpacked the EPISODES DAT and not unpacked the GAME.DAT. You need to unpack the GAME.DAT aswell

Steam doesn't remove your mods. Like I said in the video, you have to remove the DAT files and _DISC_ file or else the game will still run from the DAT files and not the extracted files. This is how these games work and has nothing to do with steam

They are in the folder that you installed the game. For example if you installed The Complete Saga from Steam then it would be C:\Program Files x86\Steam\steamapps\common\Lego Star Wars TCS

It should work for newer games aswell however I have not tested this myself. I know that The Force Awakens fails to extract a few files which breaks the game. A patch for this is avaible on the discord server. I haven't hears of any issues with other games so like I said above, should be fine
