Love this set! Jack looks so much better with the longer limbs and smaller eyes! Zero and the mayor are great too. Sure, Lock, Shock and Barrel coulda used molded heads, but I’m glad they’re included. Sandy Claws is fine. A dress piece would’ve made him look too thicc. Oogie Boogie wouldn’t have fit into this scene, but hopefully he’ll be in the next CMFs (which are hopefully coming) perhaps along with Santa Jack. Definitely gonna ask for this for Xmas!

I guess the reason why they never did include Oogie Boogie is because he was never in the original Poem but Henry the director made him into the film for Jack to like literally save christmas by saving santa instead of just having Jack being sad and Santa just magically appear to fix the damaged Jack has done

shock should've gotten sand red revived for her dress instead of the (medium) lavender. that colour (or purple) would've been more fitting for barrel than the sand blue we got. his hairpiece should've also been dark or olive green instead just green. him and lock should've also had dual moulded short legs, lock with additional dark red and barrel with aqua or medium azure, which should've been his head colour instead of white.

They really should make the left third of the set a standalone set, with just Sally, Jack and Zero. People who REALLY love the movie can buy the big set and if you want something more humble, you can get the small version.

It was probably a lot cheaper to produce that piece than it would have been to produce a bunch of pieces for the moon. I do agree it would have been nice but may contribut to an even higher price. The buildings are nice and I can see this set replacing hocus pocus on shelves. Will you review the set when it comes out?

I've slowed with Lego a lot due to financial restraints and other interests popping up. Knew this was due out for a while, and expected this to be another colossally expensive Ideas offering given the scale of the original model, but this turned out for the most part very nice and tidy showcasing all the particular sections with considerable detailing. $260 CND actually doesn't feel bad for the all of what's on display here, but not to get the moon as either a large dish or even brick built despite what material Lego used kind of cheapens the effect. Spot on with the minifigs. Lego could have definitely done much better with some of these characters but guess they wanted to keep the cost minimal so really can't complain. And oh yes how so many have waited for an official Suicide Squad Joker lol.

5:58 I haven’t seen anyone mention it, but they’ve changed Sally’s hair and tbh it’s a downgrade. The flatter hair (also in the Queer Eye set) was more accurate whereas the widow’s peak one they’re using now is the Dumbledore/Gandalf hair and it’s just too bulky.

Great review. More people would buy this if it was just the mountain scene, and if that sold well they could have done two more sets with three or four figs each. Sets like the town hall meeting and the oogie boogie lair. 200€ for this is just crazy and we don't even get a proper lego moon. I dont see the value on it, even 150€ would be overpriced. Lego really needs some serious competition, they just keep losing quality almost at the same rate as Disney.

Not a huge fan of the film, but may consider it to fill my neglected LEGO spooky vibes. Interiors are horrible, and I really feel let down by the minifig selection (and their consistency as you mention). The film is full of so many memorable characters as you state-where is the mad doctor, and I desperately want to see the Wolfman and Gillman to fill out the village. Just like 100 Acre Wood and Sesame Street, they'll never be another opportunity to really make these characters again.

A few complaints the lack of arm printing on Jack and Sally no Oogie Boogie or Mayor Mobile come on you have to be kidding me. What happened to Jack's Tower one of the most iconic things part of his house it's not existent. Lock shock and barrel only one has torso printing granted there's not much to their costumes but we couldn't have gotten some highlights or something last time I checked shock has a skirt we got nothing. Santa Claus is supposed to be a chunky guy instead Mrs Claus made him go on a diet. Don't get me wrong I am absolutely over the goddamn spiral Moon that we're getting an actual Nightmare Before Christmas Lego set. And hopefully if this set sells like crazy we'll get more figures and sets in the future.

I've seen a couple of versions on Lego Ideas that got 10,000 votes with just the hill and the house with one of them by this designer. I feel like that would've been a perfect middle ground between small and cheap for us fans and expensive enough for Lego because they don't do cheap Ideas sets anymore. But like you said, because this submission had all this stuff, I feel like they had to include it

Yeah… this is really disappointing. You take a movie with such distinct style and geometry and don’t have any of the Sellick-ness which I think is so important to why people like it. The buildings aren’t stark enough, the hill isn’t surreal reality. Definitely begs to abandon the minifigure scale entirely and just do a brick-built Jack and Sally on the hill in front of the moon. Gotta agree too, afro-textured hair in green is something I’ve needed for years and I wouldn’t be so happy about what it isn’t if it gave me that.

This set came out ok there are definitely some issues with how jacks house is horribly downsized and doesn’t really look like the original the town hall facade is amazing the interior is a joke and lego should have done better on that end the hill is probably the best part . The figs are a mixed bag Jack ,sally and zero look very accurate while the mayor looks really wired and should have been a molded peace, sandy claws looks really bad and not very accurate at all to the character. The kids are awful coke on lego at least include there masks they really fumbled on them. Not including iggie boogie was a bad move as well idk man I was excited about this set but they really didn’t do a lot of things right like a 6/10
