Lego Powered Up/ Control+/ Boost Tutorial #01: One App to rule them all [English|HD]

Today I start a completely new channel for english Powered Up, Boost, Control+ etc tutorials. The first tutorial-row will be a guide on how to code freely with the powered up app. You can use it to write small programs and applications for lego powered up, lego boost and lego control+ products.

@@technicmaster0tutorials Yes i love the Modular buildings my son has moved out of his bedroom so i am in the process of starting to build a town with hopefully a double track running around the outside, do you work for lego or is this your hobby, i think even if you do work for them it will still be your hobby, Paul

This is my hobby :D And kind of my work as in side job, but only Mindstorms EV3 and my employer is not connected to LEGO. I'm "independent" and this channel is my hobby. It's not connected to my employer and even less connected to LEGO. So you're mostly interested in trains. That's great because I think that the tutorial as a bit of a train focus although I try to be equal to many different topics.

@@technicmaster0tutorials My Father drove steam trains in the late 50's and early 60's ( just to let you know i am retired 68 this year ) was playing with lego with my younger sister in the 60's, i had the privilege to ride on the footplate with him when i was old enough so have always been interested in trains, i also have an 00 gauge model rail, and lego is nearer 0 gauge in model rail terms so i very much enjoy both Paul

I've been looking over many you tube videos on this subject, and I still can't understand why my coding canvas looks completely different. I don't have the colored tabs at all, and everything else looks slightly to radically different.

Any idea how to export/import programs in this app?

That's only possible with android. You can use a file browser to access the save data of the app and that includes folders for the programs.

Which motor do you use? Did you select the right port?

I mean it depends what you mean by other type of motor but yeah. You can't control PF IR receivers. (Technically you can but you need some powered up stuff for that and it's complicated)
