You spoke to my AFOL soul when you said, "too much gray." LOL. One of my issues with Lego Citys is it's so easy for them to become a sea of varying shades of gray. Any amount of color added makes a big difference, in my not-so-humble opinion. I'm enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work!
@rebricks

Yes, adding greenery or other details really helps break it up. There's a lot of gray in real cities, but more than two shades of it. And plenty of other things too, signs, people, etc. Thanks for watching!

I like the format of the video series; music, time-lapse, voiceover of thoughts. The city building make logical sense and it's clean. What Lego themselves should have done.

The train crossing is awesome an so detailed. The only thing i can suggest is a little seperation between the pavement where the umbrella tables are and the train track. Maybe some bushes or flower pots.

I love your showing that a small city can be just as luxurious as the large ones seen on this platform. I also like how your introductions explain what you’ll be doing and then speed build as you narrate. I would however like to see you incorporate some more detailed explanations, or even instructions, on how you finally accomplish some of the more complicated or tricky parts (ie railroad diagonals etc). I enjoy how you are focusing on “believability” and detail. I also really enjoy the soft spoken narrations- you are the BOB ROSS of Lego 😂👍

Incredible parts usage on the skylight for the flower shop. That was inspired! I also agree with the style of crossing guards you chose. I’m not sure that anything more elaborate would match the build style you’ve used so far. Another fun episode, I look forward to the next one.

I enjoy seeing your techniques for the buildings, they remind me of some mini city kits that my daughter and I built a while back. We just had a small table with a strip of shops and road but it's cool seeing where that can grow. Great fun adding super hero and villain mini figures to play in the city. I'm also a fan of Lego Trains and have a couple customs based on the D&RGW.

The approach of building up (pun intended) to those awesome goals of automation, but for now just building and enjoying yourself is just a great approach at life in general. I still struggle with burning myself out by trying to perfect something all at once instead of recognizing where I’m at and where my time and sanity needs checking, and moving onto the next thing. You really nail down knowing when to show the time lapse of building with just music in the background, and when your commentary is necessary. The rail road crossing construction video it was perfect that you talked through it, and this was majority building and then retrospective commentary. I know you said you love hearing our ideas, but personally I still am just enjoying your insight and what you’re coming up with. No doubt in the future I’ll have a suggestion or tip or idea or something with more input, but I normally watch, listen and recognize before presuming I have something to add critically. Keep up the good work. I understand the busyness. Work and life is in full swing, and very little playtime, but these few minutes of your videos are an oasis. That bit about the book but instead being on your phone was also incredibly relatable lol. Thank you again and Happy Bricking!

I just found the channel with the angled rail crossing episode, and I've spend all afternoon catching up. That crossing alone was utterly genius, but now, seeing everything else, I'm entirely floored. The way you work with these bricks, both with the tiny details, and with the larger shaping of everything is just so impressive. Your willingness to go back, undo, and redo your previous work is really admirable too. Even the videos themselves are really cozy to watch, and you've improved that so much in such a short time. I'm really looking forward to what Brickland will go on to become, and I hope you keep having fun doing it! I'm particularly curious what you'll do with those fancy raised baseplates... 🤔

I notice that you really like to reveal text with like a hand or something moving, which I think is really nice! Something that you might want to try is masking! That way you can mask out the hand and animate the tracking of that mask so that it's a more accurate way to reveal graphics or text. However, I know it takes extra time to create these transitions but I since you seem to like to learn more about video production, I figured it might be nice to mention it! I know Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Premiere Pro have tools to mask things out but it might be available in other media editing programs too! If you do decide to try it out, good luck with it! Keep up the great work! It's really nice seeing your video skills and your Lego city grow each time you upload something! Here's to seeing more great content from you in the future!
