This Lego model is inspired by the iconic ship from The Mandalorian show. The Razor Crest is a gunship used by the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin. It predates the Galactic Empire and was initially used as a military patrol craft.
The model is a modification of the Lego Razor Crest set 75292. It emphasizes a more detailed front end, canopy, engines, landing gear, and interior. If you already have the original set, the modification does not require too many pieces.

@@mickjameson4384 yeah unfortunately. Everytime I see a new set or a set I’m gonna get I immediately think about what mods I can do to it. I had the Bad Batch shuttle all finished for like 30 seconds before I remade the entire cockpit. Lego is alright but thankfully you can modify!

Really cool modification honestly, I’ve always liked the idea of modifying official sets to make em look better and more authentic. Never have understood Lego’s design choices for a lot of sets especially colour wise, and the Razorcrest’s dark grey pieces are exactly the kind of thing that confuses and bothers me the most… I mean how hard is it to get a uniform coloured ship that’s actually correct to it’s source material? The weird colours are exactly why I modified my old Lego Imp Star Destroyer to get rid of the dark grey panels on that as well… just keep it normal, guys… It looks a lot better if it’s closer to how it actually looks in the movies/shows…

This video is awesome, but it also raises a lot of frustration for me. When LEGO released the Razor Crest set, I noticed right off the bat that it was off. The modifications presented here quite dramatically improve the visual aesthetics of the original design and make it look much more like the actual ship. Given the fact that this was accomplished with just a few hundred extra pieces, it really upsets me that LEGO doesn’t put the extra time and energy into perfecting these sets the way they should. I certainly wouldn’t have minded paying an extra $30 for a much better looking set. That being said, I get that it’s not easy for a lot of people to put down that kind of money for LEGO sets. There’s also the durability or “playability” factor to consider as well. I hear repeated rumors that there will be an official UCS Razor Crest, so I’d be curious to see how that ends up looking if it gets released.

I purchased the instructions for this mod in the past week. I just completed the build and am very impressed! It turns 75292 into like a mini UCS model. Great for display, but still maintains a lot of the playability. Plus it remains sturdy like the original (aside from the little bits you point out in the video). I highly recommend this mod to anyone looking to upgrade their 75292 Razor Crest.

More Playscale-models please! :D I‘ve come to like the look of it far more since minifig-scale is of course accurate but really is a pain to work with in Mocs and display-models. A nicely done Playscale-Model of the Millenium Falcon would be so awesome (Interior much appreciated)! It would also offer the possibility of realizing some ships that would simply not be possible in minifig-scale …

I’ll admit, I never liked the original play set design. The engines look really awkward. The Custom UCS set that was made looks infinitely better than both of these.

The original model is so ugly, I really really really appreciate this update if only as evidence for how wrong the shape and look of the original is. I am a lego fanboy, I love everything they make, I just found this model felt like a step backwards.
