If Galidor was successful, I can see them using the action figure base as part of expert collectable lines. The huge fancy cars made of Technic pieces would be scaled to fit a Galidor size action figure of the actual driver. Or a new scale about 2/3 the size of standard Galidor if the sets needs to be a little smaller or scaled down more to be economical. Maybe they can even use Galidor system as 'inner' frame for Bionicle, where the inner frame has the same articulating joints as the Galidor figures, but every segments are lined with Technic holes to build onto. A hollowed torso can be used for minifigure scaled mechs like the Ninjago mechs, but with Gundam level of articulation. Iron Man where Tony Stark is a standard Galidor type action figure, but the Iron Man armor is a separate build that goes on and off the action figure.

In this universe, SlugonPlanetU was a successful youtuber who made LegoRebound videos, the longest being a 1 hour video about Rock Raiders, one of the most successful Lego themes that spanned for a decade, saved the company from bankruptcy, and had a short lived and rather disappointing reboot. He collabs with RRNicker, another famous youtuber who makes stop motion reviews of obscure Lego lines like Bionicle or Ninjago that only had one year to them until Lego moved on to other successful lines, like Galidor and Znap.

Imagine if LEGO took another try at a Galador like Action Figure line with a major licensed IP like Fortnite or something that has TONS of highly recognizable and likeable character! I imagine Galidor would've still very much been as classified as being "that weird non-LEGO line that's somehow made by LEGO" not unlike how Bionicle is treated in some circles of the LEGO fandom to this day had the line proved popular enough to last the typical three year structure LEGO tends to go for barring Bionicle G1, Friends, and Ninjago.

For as easy a target of ridicule themes like Galidor can be, there's geniunely stuff to enjoy about it, its character design is strong, the toys of surprisingly great quality, the introduction if ratchet joins and the Kek Powerizer is probably the single most ambitious toy Lego's put out. It might make for a good april fools prank or your typical "imagine if *this* became the standard" comment, but Galidor *had* good in it

Imagine if CCBS expanded it's parts lot beyond the standard she'll pieces. Like giving us back cover so that we have no exposed skeletons, or new torso pieces that allow waist articulation. Looking at some knockoff brands, they are more innovative than Lego ever did. Those CCBS Ultraman builds are quite impressive, and those sets that come with the amazing articulated hands.

If there's one thing I respect the most about Lego is that they really do push quality in their toys and relative products. Yeah, Galidor was a commercial failure but they have the same attention to detail and QC as any other theme. Same for Lego movies, clothes, video games, etc. If it doesn't sell well, it's more of a failure in marketing research or in establishing a presence in that market. Lego as an action figure is about as strange to customers as Lamborghini making pick up trucks. And Hasbro/Matel has the largest share for action figures. But they continue to try to experiment with new ideas, like with AR in the Hidden Side series. Amazing sets. Not much success with the AR game and the graphics on the box were confusing. So as much as we like to tease about Galidor, it's apparent that Lego can in fact produce action figures as good as Hasbro/Matel, which should make competitors shiver if Lego tries again someday.

I'm glad you finally had not just a taste, but a full-course meal of Galidor parts and figures. As a kid, I was excited for Galidor as I was for any other LEGO toy, including Jack Stone. I still remember holding the box for Ooni at Christmas with my cousins or going to ToysRUs for a Galidor event and walking away with a neatly colored page of Nick and Gorm fighting. And somehow when signing away for 2 Galidor Defender Kits (for my brother and I), I received 3 Defender Disks instead of 2! While I remember little of the TV show nowadays, the creature designs seemed intriguing like they really felt like parts of a bigger universe, err, dimension. As for as the toys, I can attest that they are highly durable. My childhood parts still hold up to this day after swapping and posing for a long time. The flexible pin-axles of some parts like on the TDN feet, Allegra's hair, and the McDonald's toys is bothersome for what would have been a better system, but not a defect to the base system that was influential in the long run. I only found the arms easy to pop off if they connected to the shoulders directly lined up, elbow touching the arm sleeve. And the variety of texture makes sense to praise for the same year; BIONICLE also had changing textures based on their wave, but you can tell some didn't work together, like the dotted Inika pattern mixed with grid-like Metru joints.I understand how and why they made that work in CCBS all being the same, but it lacks originality between characters and clashes with designs typical of superheroes or Star Wars (especially more organic ones like Chewbacca). I like the nickname of "Ick". Heh, "nick"name. Pun not intended.

My experience with Galidor before watching your initial Galidor april fools episode (The paralel universe one) was limited to the Nick and Nepol Mc Donald toys (Being born in 2002, I never saw the initial Galidor boom like my brothers probably did). When I was arond 10 or so (I don't remember) I saw like 1 or 2 episodes of the TV series via reruns in my native french: I mostly remember that Euripides ate the winter clothes he was given thinking it was how they kept you warm or something like that. I didn't even know those McDonald toys in the Lego containers had their own show before that. I appreciate you did made this more serious video about Galidor to close the book on the subject. -A fellow autistic artist, not to the point to make an ongoing comic like you do, but I do a lot of art.

I always wondered about the clutch power of Galidor feet on studs and so glad someone tested it. And who else but Nick Himself to do the job? Galidor's marketing was haphazard but the figures themselves always looked cool and interesting to me. Enough for my parents to mail in for an Official Defenders Kit. None of the sets made it to my household, though. Jack Stone was more my thing then. That said I would've loved these chunky guys as a toddler! Even more so now, with your and RR Slugger's reappraisal of theze crazies.

I was into Galidor back in the day, kid me was really into the show, and REALLY into all the ARG and game stuff Lego was doing on their website, which I believe you can still find fully working on the Internet Archive and other places. But I never got any of the toys, from what I remember stores in my area did not carry them. Though having never gotten my hands on any Galidor toys, other than one or two of the McDonalds Happy Meals setts, they remind me of the classic Masters of the Universe toyline. In they took the thing fans did, taking limbs, heads, accessories, etc, apart and then making new figures and characters from it. But as the toy line's main official gimmick. It's neat.

(It was a weird 3d only series about a kid turning into a hero alter ego). Anyway Galidor wasn't great imo but the potential was there and it showed me to try new things I might not like. It spurred the moment I went on a closed/open beta mmorpg search during the early 2000's. Tbh I miss the days lego took risks on original franchises. "It's not real LEGO" should be a codeword for "it's creative, experimental stuff that we're not used to". Yeah, it's not the bricks most fans expect from lego, but now that the company has done off with this type of experimentation and creativity some of the magic is lost. They are a lot more commercially succesful, but creatively staler... It really wasn't a huge surprise to me that they used AI and then made a super half-assed apology. They are sitting on so much cash but are unwilling to take a chance on more unorthodox themes. I get it, if it ain't broke don't fix it... but some variety would really not hurt.

The sets were maybe a little overpriced for how much they offered? But that's the only criticism I can honestly think of; what they did offer was high quality (And honestly now that I think about it, the ratchet joints aren't just molded into the pieces, they're assembled out of smaller "sub-pieces," so the price probably isn't even as out of proportion as I was thinking)
