Lego's New "Theme" Is Perfect

Lego Dungeons and Dragons will be coming, both as a massive Lego IDEAS set and a Collectible Minifigure series this Fall! This video goes over all the leaks in detail. I'm super excited for these sets, Dungeons and Dragons is such a rich fantasy setting and Lego is the perfect medium for it.

You know there are ways you can integrate this into your world cause if my memory serves me right you do have a dragon faction and there is a dragon and also Ninjago have some other great dragons that work well with all dragon castle faction

I feel they are definitely doing those as a trial run to see how much interest it can garner! Hopefully they can have both large and pricey sets for the adult fans and small and affordable sets for kids to continue to grow the d&d / lego fanbases

Given how much the DnD crowd spends on that hobby in general, I think this will do quite well for Lego financially... Which is great news. I like using CMFs as they are super accessible for younger fans.

If their recent space series sets are any indicator of how Lego is going to handle new themes in the future, I almost have some hopes for this. Still very pricy in comparison to competitors (and I don’t think they’ll be able to match things like BlueBrixx in terms of fantasy and medieval themed builds), but if they toss out a bunch of 20$ sets with like… coaches and 2-3 fantasy figures, then I’ll be extremely happy.

The creature that standing on top of the tower is a displacer beast. If you ever watch the dungeons and dragons movie, he was in there and he’s on page 81 of the monster manual. He’s basically a jaguar with these weird tentacle things that look like they have teeth on them and his ability is to project the projection of him to trick you and go invisible.

My furry ass wants to see the proposed "Dragonborn" minifigure molds. Perhaps the D&D series could compete with Chima and Ninjago with Anthropomorphic Minifigure creatures

The black thingy is a displacer beast. There are 6 figs that I can see and the fig in the middle is a halfling with the old elf hair from the cmf from years ago. This is a really great price for a licensed set. The heads are double-sided for the CMF.

@@BricksAndDice The official reveal should be any day now as lego teased the set 2 days ago. Also the boxes should all have the bigger codes which you should be able to scan to see what's inside. The CMF probably won't be revealed till August closer to the release

I realy dig the masculine and feminine face idea! Though i tend to use yellow more then flesh tone. It is almost like having extra figures to display when you eventuly get duplicates. Just switch out some parts and you can have a whole villiage of dwarfs.

If they make the sets/theme like the MOTM wave from Ninjago S13 i'll be here for it. As the Dice was included and played a role in the imaginative play so you could play it like a D&D run or like normal LEGO.

Rivendell just came out last year man. Also Barad Dur comes out in June of this year Also the Lions Knight castle, the 3in1 castle, the viking village and viking longship have came out recently. Also the Blacksmith shop which is now retired but an excellent set. The Medieval Town Square also comes out in March which is next week.

Soooooooooooo EXCITED for this!!! I’ve been playing dungeons and dragons since the mid 90s in fact, I played out with my young children they’re 10 and 12. When we do campaigns, I let the kids pick out mini figures that we have bags of, and they can design their character and make up their own backstory and fighting style and everything like that. I think they will be excited about this, too

@@BricksAndDice I’m a big fan of the Dragonlance series books, especially the first couple years worth like with the chronicles and the meetings. So much so that I wanted to name my first child at Tanis, after the character in the book. Even though the dragons books are owned by a different company, it would be fun to see them try to do characters from that book line.

I am buying all of these. No question. As a d&d fan, all of these leaked products are an absolute 10/10 for me. I never got CMFs before, as I don't really like having duplicate figures that aren't army characters, but this CMF will probably be best to get multiple duplicates so you can actually do some customization

Strahad is THE vampire of D&D. There are 3 or 4 technical settings for D&D, traditionally. The main D&D setting was known as Greyhawk, your generic D&D setting. Forgotten Realms was where your Baldurs Gate series occured as well as featured more technological things and creatures such as the Warforged race, a magical clockwork race that the players could play as. Then there is the setting of Ravenloft, which is Strahads own personal realm. Yes of the 3 major realms of existence within D&D Strahad has complete control and use of one of them.

As a collector that mostly collects Classic Star Wars, Marvel and Pop Culture Idea sets... this might add another collection category for me. I'm not a fan of CMF though... hopefully they sort that mess out like they were kind of doing with the last Marvel wave. Sell all 12 in 1 box please and leave the single "mystery" boxes for birthday gifts and Christmas stocking stuffers.

Speaking as someone who has played D&D using Lego for minis and terrain on more than one occasion, I declare this equal parts awesome and (mechanically) unnecessary. The scariest thing in the leak, however, was not the beholder, the illithid, or the vampire lord, however...but the set price.

Ironically, in medieval heraldry a wyvern was a combination of a dragon and a serpent, with the head, chest, wings and forelimbs of a dragon and the hindquarters of a snake which looks like identical to a tail, so technically the original wyvern did just have forelimbs, lol

Don't know for sure. This is the 50th anniversary of DnD so that is why this is happening now beyond this who knows. If it sells well we could be more down the road. I am hoping so as the cmf or set doesn't have Drizzt. As a fan of forgotten realms and Dragonlance I would love to see Geran Hulmaster, Eerevis Cale, Artemis Entreri, Jarlaxle, Raistlin, Tanis, Flint, Sturm, Caramon, Tasslefhof, Riverwind, and Goldmoon, etc. They literally could do a CMF every year for years and never run out of ideas.
