The Briks brand baseplates are really good. I have four of them and I prefer them over real Lego great-plates because you can connect stuff to the bottom

in their defense, there is probably a lot that goes into what they can offer. did they give any explanation? Maybe they already had what you brought? Like everything else in this world, being old, retired, doesnt always make it worth its weight in gold. As a restaurant owner myself, I can imagine the overhead they have. I am sure everything in that store the owners had to pay COD for it. I cant imagine how much money they have tied up just in all those minifigs. I have grown tired of complaining about how high my food costs are, so I have moved on to complaining about how high payroll is. I have no idea how many employees they have there, but people dont get out of bed these days for less than, what 15-20 bucks an hour lol.

B&M looks so cool. Were you surprised that prices were cheaper/more expensive than places in Canada as you said you're used to Canadian pricing? Lots of good minifigs that would look good for Pop Culture Street. What'd you think of their inventory and pricing there compared to Mastermind Toys? Those movie posters look cool and would go with a MOC theater as you could change them out every so often. Good finds there too.

mini red skull is from the Mighty Micros sub theme, i think these were 9 DC and 9 Marvel sets each with 2 vehicles and 2 "cartoon" style minifigs - great sets!!

The store's concept is cool but wow those prices aren't good. I understand they have a physical store to pay for but you can find each of those minifigs for so much cheaper online. Nothing really beats a physical shopping experience, though.
