I think another reason why LEGO hasn’t done a sand blue TIE fighter is that, in more recent movies/shows, it’s pretty obviously just grey. However, I reckon it would be really cool if they made a vintage-style original trilogy sand blue TIE for a GWP at some point.

I really liked the Bad Batch Attack Shuttle because it uses sand blue pieces, but everyone complained it was the wrong color

@@Gzilla313 Yeah, I don’t think it was “wrong” per se. The designers could have gone either way and have the set still be accurate, and sand blue was definitely the right choice. It makes the set so much more interesting and nice-looking. However, I can totally understand that a lot of people would have preferred that it be grey.

What are your thoughts on LEGO releasing a new Imperial Star Destroyer playset in the next couple years? The last one they released was all the way back in 2014 which I find insane considering how important and iconic of a ship it is in the original trilogy. Yes they released the First Order Star Destroyer and Moff Gideon's Imperial Light Cruiser in that intervening time which fill a similar spot in the lineup of sets but they aren't the same. The 2014 was pretty great for the time and I can only imagine how they would be able to improve the design with modern pieces and techniques.

I’m glad the midi scale super star destroyer is selling so well. Hopefully this line gets picked up and we get more ships that would otherwise be too large to make (outside of UCS) or even just a more realistic display option for normal ships as opposed to playscale. This may be the only way we get a Home1 but even that still feels unrealistic

Yes! I'd love a new B-Wing. I wasn't willing to spend the UCS price on a Lego set when the UCS one came out and although I have the most recent play scale, it leaves a lot to be desired. I'd love Lego to let the Speed Champions team design it; their designs are fantastic.

Showed up early to the local Lego store to get my Star destroyer. I got the last one by putting it on hold (there were only two people in front of me, meaning there were likely only 3 actually stocked). I sold them out before the store even opened. All in all the set was a good build, but I think it would’ve been better if the top angled panels of the bodywork had been held down at the front and back, rather than just the middle, as they have a tendency to bend upwards on display. I also picked up the the Tie Interceptor to get the mini Death Star. I have yet to build it.

I always wanted a modular death star. every quarter you would get a model (i.e. trash compactor, hanger, conference room etc.) and at the end they would form together to make a 4 foot diameter death star. The sets could even come with extra parts like the build a figure marvel series where you could add panels for the outside exterior.

I think a small envelope for $5-8 would be reasonable. @Ryan. How about "Hoth Rebel Base 7666" meets "Hoth Echo Base 7879"? It needs a better door/exterior than 7879, and a snow-speeder, but no medbay (we got one) or catwalk. Basically: Door/exterior, one Golan turret next to a portion of trench, a better interior command center with those cool monitoring displays, a speeder and something that can approximate the imaginative start of a hanger...Maybe a Tauntaun. Give me Han, Luke, Leia...AND a Dash Rendar...BOOM! You heard me. You could easily pull that off with 1500. @LEGO: I'm available for design consultation if needed.

AskMandR: Have you heard of people not storing minifigs/legos in your every day sandwich and larger ziploc gallon bags because they can slowly damage them over time? What do you think about this? I find this highly improbable as the ABS plastic that lego uses is very robust and is not affected by things like a plastic bag supposedly releasing its acid content slowly over time (I don't know the exact chemistry as I'm not a chemist). Plus I really don't want to spend time and money switching everything from ziplocs and swich bags into "Safe" LDPE bags. 😂

Looking at the initial reception the prequels had which to my knowledge was similar to the sequels in being received horribly Lego might see that initial backlash and not want to do prequel stuff to the best their ability. The original trilogy however was received extremely well and so Lego might be trying to capitalize on that in anyway shape or form.

I think the polybag figure thing is easy to answer. Its too parts. First, I think that unless its a main character, the stores would not be able to keep it in stock and the secondary market would blow up. Secondly, most people prefer the figures to the models that they could build piece by piece at any time. So they buy the sets for the figures (See the justifier). Why give a figure away for 5-7 dollars when you can sell a set for 170 with 3 figures?

Some evidence against the combined release would be that the new set is only 100 or so pieces more than the original sets combined (The Ghost and Phantom II), so it is unlikely given other remakes recently like UCS X-Wing and AT-TE: given their piece counts went up by about 300
