I ended up getting two 75257 cheap, 1 with a smashed box & the other with no minifigs, I then got the extra pieces to upgrade them up to 75389 standard. I also changed one to a Ep:7 variant with the different dish and older Han Solo & Chewie, so now I have three cool Falcons on display.

should have covered the smuggler compartment on the grey , & the control room on the dark .

I thought that you would have gone more in depth on the construction of the build differences , such as the base and the landing gear , the fact that on 75257 the landing gear is not removable, vs 75389 is, and a few other subtle differences that I would have mentioned other than that good video ,thanks.

Somebody threw away a nearly intact 25257 in my apartment. Picked it up, bought the missing pieces, then bought some more pieces to improve it. This eventually became a gateway drug to my Star Wars themed Lego collection. Not sure if I gained or lost money with this unexpected windfall. Ha!

Weird question! But for Christmas someone got me the lighting kit for the old 72527 falcon instead of the dark falcon. Do you think the kit would work on the dark falcon because they’re so similar? Or colors would be awful?

I am not sure about the colors. But I think the lights would work. The dark falcon build is so similar to the 75257 falcon. I would give it a shot.

Are the bottoms of the sets the same? Just wondering if I can use the same acrylic stand.

I would definitely build them. They are super fun to swoosh around and the figures are great.

@@gunfire_because they are in the same price segment / size and like in my case i had to decide which to buy and a comparsion would have helped me, you’re surely right that they are two different models

Though they can be compared, each represents a different ship in a different context so ine cannot replace the other.

Bought it comes in a week but for double the price because nobody sells it here had to get in online 🙄

@itzgg5735 oh damn. I only paid $25 more than the Lego website official price. Usually $259 AUD, I paid $285 from an ebay seller. Tho I have seen people charging $349 - $400.
