Lego Star Wars: Red Blades

Hello Everyone! I'm so glad to finally return with a full lego stop motion short film, it has been too long! I wrote this story back during the making of Lego Star Wars: Sharpeye and was eager to make it into a reality. This project, due to its length in time to create and other life circumstances, will be the last large project of mine for a while. Although I do have the intention to make some smaller projects in the meantime, so keep an eye out for those! Otherwise, please feel free to leave a comment or question down below, I always enjoy reading them :D and I hope you ENJOY...

This is an absolute masterpiece and certainly the greatest film I've seen all year. The animation is amazing, the sets and VFX better than ever before, SFX is also doing a very crucial part, but the practical lighting is on a whole new level. I love what you've done.

Wow, this is phenomenal! Set design is awesome with a lot of details! Lightning is beautiful especially in the city! Character moves are very smooth and camera movements really enhances the action! Blaster and lightsaber effects are amazing as always! When i saw Darth Vader i was, okay, this is where the fun begins, for real!! He didnt said any word but his actions said 100 words and i really like that! I am very excited to see more from you!

I have one question, have you changed your blaster effects? In Sharpeye they looks like lego lightsaber brick now they looks more like real blaster (i hope you can understand me).

Sorry if you have answered this already, but where do you get your blaster effects and what is your opinion on what you use? Also, where do you get that rain effect? Beautiful animation!

No worries! So I used a plug-in in Adobe After effects called Saber for the blaster effects. It’s pretty easy to use as long as you have some basic knowledge of After effects. I know there are some more straight forward ways of doing the blaster FX but that’s all I’m familiar with. Unfortunately I don’t recall the specific rain overlay I used but there are several great royalty free overlays across the internet. Hopefully that helps :D
