LEGO Star Wars - The Force Awakens Teaser (Realistic Look)

I know that there are more than a dozen Lego re-creations of this famous teaser until now.
But as a Star Wars fan too with some experience in brickfilming I couldn’t stop thinking to make my own tribute version in LEGO.
It’s a bit late but here it is.
I worked hard to reach the most beautiful and realistic look I could. Having no experience in 3d CGI and having a poor amount of LEGO bricks on my own I had no choice for shooting this video to make it with some live action shots and to use (by compositing work) some backgrounds from the original teaser and organic elements too. But it works fine to me because I could reach this realistic touch I like to bring in my brickfilms and to show a different take on what were done before by others fellow brickfilmers.

Oh boy... The remakes are getting better and better! We should hurry in order to finish ours :D One thing I noticed is that you should improve your camera movement. Getting the sith-scene right is brutal, but things like the speeder scene and finn should be doable. Liked it!

Thank you!! I'll not be able to make a real BTS video for this project (I'm always alone when filming so it's a bit hard to make and nice BTS video). Nevertheless, I'll post some pictures on my Facebook and I'll also post a video comparison of the footage straight off the camera between the final result with all the compositing, cropping, effects etc..! Great job! This one is clearly one of the the best ones on KZbin. Green screen was done perfectly, so was the animation and the effects. Btw, what did you do to the X-wings? They look slightly different.

Like I said in the description, there are so fantastic versions already released since the original teaser came up and I really enjoy to see all those different ways of recreation of the same piece. However I'm glad if you reckon my version is part of the best ones :). Regarding the X-Wings, nope ;) ! It's simply the last one 9493 that I costumed to match a bit more with the new model of the actual movie (Just some changes on the wings and red bricks replaced by blue ones). Sorry regarding the AT-AT impressions you asked me the last time! I didn't have the chance to see my friend yet to have a look on it. But soon I think, I'll tell you ;)

Kévin Ziolkowski My friend, what you did with the X-Wings is smart, convenient and saved you extra 20 mins of software editing (Color correction) :P. Regarding the AT-AT, Don't worry about it it's totally fine! I just got the 75054 on a sale but didn't get the chance to open it yet, so I can't really see any techniques yet myself. However, we can still share the techniques between each other as you told me before. So whenever you get the chance to see your friend, don't hesitate to message;). I also found some very interesting techniques with the 75055 which also came with the sale. I'll tell you in a private message.

You're right! I reckon there were enough things to do in post so I tried to limit this on the X-wing color's bricks for exemple. So nice about the 75055!! I'm planning to get one someday in order to make a really short sequence I'd love to see in Lego. I'll be interesting with the techniques you've already figured out :). We'll keep in touch about those sets to work with ;)

Haha if could beat ZachMG’s after only 3 brickfilms I would be a jedi master ^^ ! I’m far behind him regarding his animation skills for sure but I hope someday to reach this kind of level (I have to find Yoda to follow his training haha)! And like I said in the description his version is gorgeous yeah ;) As far as the BB-8 scene is concerned, I find really funny how each of us chose a different way to show this shot. I preferred the Lego planet option that I costumed with painting and drawings that I shot rolling in live action (It was Kamino’s planet ;p) and I’m happy you like it :) Thanks for sharing your feelings bro!! And maybe Solid Brix Studio gonna beat ZachMG who knows ;D

just a question; did you "cut" the spaceships, characters , e.t.c., and replace them with the lego ones?

+Paul Lego ! Have a look at the side by side version video without any post production processes ;). Indeed, for some shots I redesigned the background without the spaceships of the original shot. About the first shot, the X-Wings shot or BB-8 shot for example, I took a frame of the shots with the most visible background possible. And then I did a compositing work to re-create the background with parallax effects etc.. in order to get a clean background waiting for LEGO elements incrustation ;). Otherwise for some others shots like the speeder one, or the millenium falcon I didn't modify the shot. I've just added the LEGO model right on the top layer. But in this case, accuracy was big concern for sure! I hope it'll answer your question. Thanks for your concern, I do appreciate ;)
