I initially wasn't super into the the ship when the set was first leaked but now that I've seen some reviews I now really like the set and in-universe design. All of the Last Jedi sets are insanely priced but this one doesn't seem quite as bad to me for some reason. Chances are I'll never get it though as this is an incredibly expensive wave. The Silencer(Kylo Ren's TIE) and the AT-M6 are the only 2 must-haves for me.

Luis Colin Also when the rebel alliance was transitioning into the resistance they wanted new craft and not very old ones. Even the x wings and the a wings got an upgrade. By the time of the force awakens it had been 30 years since return of the Jedi so yeah the y wings became too old and were just not a viable craft for space operations. Considering as well that the tie fighters had been upgraded and those would easily be able to take out the y wing it makes sense to have a newer vehicle that is not falling apart on you.

They should have literally used anything else. Y-Wings are great and all, and my favorite ship as well, but I do like the creativity. However the creativity was completely overshadowed by the garbage design that has literally no combat potential (unless Ryan Johnson says so). The ship is the slowest starship in the entire saga (size doesn't matter because imperial class star destroyers easily catch up to the millennium falcon on multiple occasions), but its armor is even worse than its speed. It gets hit by even a little debris and it explodes! There is even a scene where one is shot once, explodes, and the resulting chunks that break off cause 2 nearby to explode.

I love the functionality, the design, the selection of figures. It's pricey, but I'm sure it'll be on sale at one point. Actually, in-setting this is quite the opposite from a well-designed vessel. They're slow, fragile, and present a large side profile. If I was going to run a heavy bomber I would probably just convert a bunch of YT-1300 or YT-1760 light freighters for bombing duty. But as a LEGO model, it looks great.

I love all the greeblies on this. The way the wings are attached, with ratcheting joints that don't ratchet, are added greeblies. I hope Star Wars sets go this route, as I love greeblies on Star Wars ships.

Im going by B-17 bombing layouts here and a part from the movie but I do believe the guy in the mid section is meant to be the bombardier. The guy in the dorsal canopy is most likely a flight engineer, the guy behind the pilot is probably the radio operator (or whatever they use in the star wars universe, seeings in the movie you see this guy moving around flicking switches with an exposed headset on its fair to say thats his role) (For y'all who do not know'th, his role is to aim and release the payload/bombs.) The more you know.

Jang, why are there two clear red studs on a stack on one winglet and none on the other? Is that in the instruction booklet or? I'm feeling this set, it's so well structured, complex and well done, it almost looks like a moc. I think the wings need to be changed a little because they're almost too simple and basic compared to the rest, but that wouldn't take much. Just little things like all the double sided faces, the three consoles in the cockpit, how well integrated the mechanisms are, the interior space, this is a stellar set.

Wow, this set is very impressive. I love old aircraft, including WWII bombers, so I'll have to pick this up. I only wish that it had some type of nose-art on it. Lego's Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship, or 'The Halo' had a nose-art sticker, but it did in-universe too. I hope this craft makes a prominent appearance in The Last Jedi, and not just stay in the background like the Nebulon B it resembles. Update: I bought the set from eBay for about $90 and it's really neat. The build for the 'stalk' that the bombs drop out of is a little tricky, but that may be because I don't purchase or build a whole lot of sets. I added a lot of tiles and jumpers on the 'stalk' and added 2 layers of plates and 1 layer of tiles to the little stabilizer wings to make them thicker, looks better now. I'll have to make more adjustments when I get a better look at it in the movie.

A lot of people have been left wondering how the bombs are able to fall in space. using real physics and star wars lore, I will give what I believe are the 2 most plausible answers. Number 1: We have seen in star wars, ships and some spacecraft are able to have an artificial atmosphere even when there is a direct opening to space in the craft. It can be seen in the hangers of the Death Star and Destroyer class star ships, its quite common in the star wars universe. In these artificial atmospheres, people can walk around much like they would on our own planet so gravity works inside the ship. That means these bombers must have an artificial atmosphere and when the bomb bay doors open, that atmosphere is unbroken. This is where physics comes into play; seeings gravity exists inside the ship, when you drop the payload the bombs fall as they would on any earth-like planet. Once they leave the bottom of the craft, passing through the artificial atmosphere, they are in motion and stay so as like any object, if it is in motion it stays in motion until acted upon by other forces, but in space there is no other forces and so the bombs continue to travel at the same velocity they left the ship at. They are not really falling once they exit the ship, they are merely continuing to move in the direction they were sent by the ships artificial gravity as there is nothing holding them back with resistance (pun) because in space, there is no resistance against objects. This, given what we can see in the film, is the most likely reason the bombs "fall". Possibility number 2!...The bombs are propelled or something lmao...

I can answer that: The modular bombing magazine, called the "clip" by the bomber's crew, would drop the bombs through sequenced electromagnetic plates in the clip, which propelled the bombs to "drop" in microgravity environments. The bombs would then be drawn magnetically to their targets. The assembly could be programmed to drop specific sections of the payload in sequence, but the most common configuration was "deploy all." To drop the ship's payload, the bombardier on the flight deck monitored a concentrated sensor feed. The system calculated the optimum time for release, and at a given prompt, or at the discretion of the bombardier, the control button on a wireless remote triggered the release of the payload. A magnetic seal retained the atmosphere when the bomb bay doors were open

@@5trider29 The only problem is what you answered (that is the canon answer they decided to go with as of rn) if they propelled they would have dropped in sync in the same magazine. They wouldn't be falling bottom one first then second then third and so on like what we see irl bombers.The different stacks could fall in sync but if the magazines are emptied by a propellant then they would have to fall at an identical rate or the top bombs would hit the ones below it and potentially cause a rupture. I understand that explanation is canon but it has many holes although star wars is known to have flaws for obvious reasons.
