I miss this game’s version of Yoda. The hover chair is so much better than hopping with a cane, and I love his walking animation with his lightsaber activated as he jumps all over the place.

I agree! They used the new Yoda for the first time in LSW The Original Trilogy, I always disliked it so much. But I think they made the change as original Yoda could glitch, like I did around 1:52:00 to get the minikit. Another way to look at it is: in Episode V and VI we can see Yoda is pretty old, sick, and not as powerful as he used to be. So making him as agile as Episode II, throughout Episode IV-V-VI doesn't make sense. They probably kept the change without thinking about it anymore and it got carried over to The Complete Saga. Maybe there are mods online to bring old Yoda back?

@@yourtypicalcupoftea Fair enough! LSWI just has so much nostalgia for me, which makes me rank it higher than LSWII. Another disadvantage of LSWII: it has less Jedi, for obvious reasons. Btw I did not struggle so much with the podrace and gunship levels when I was a kid, but others always complain about it! I've got a specific way of completing them and it works like 95% of the time.

Glad you liked it! I preferred the prequel game more as well. Yeah they took the individual LSW1 and LSW2 off the shelves when The Complete Saga came out unfortunately. True, LSW2 is still on Xbox, almost got all the achievements for it. But the only way to play LSW1 on console now is through emulation (or original hardware obviously).

I can still recall my baby brother and I having a lovely time playing this game back in 2005 on our original Xbox console. The memories, these feelings, the game, all such palpable stuff. The fact that you were able to 100 percent the game in 4 hours when it took me and my friend like 5 hours to just beat the main story is crazy. To be fair we did occasionally switch over to Lego Star Wars 2 during this and occasionally return to Negotiations to get some more studs so we probably could have wiped out the main story in like 2 or 3 hours.

i've noticed three things "unique" to the PC version: one, in 1:08:24, queen amidala never smiles which isn't in ANY other version of the game. two, the PC version has bloom effects which isn't in ANY other version of the game, though it can be enabled if the setup detects you have NVIDIA hardware (it did for me!) and three, the PC version looks like a port of the xbox version since those two are the only versions to have the old furry TT logo and giant logos, with the NVIDIA logo being added to the PC version. PC also shared the xbox "studs falling through floor" glitch, but it was patched in the PC version and later copies shipped with the patch (i had said later copy, but i gave it away). sucks how PC doesn't support XInput with terrible support for modern PCs. if some modder could fix all this and add XInput support, PC would easily be the definitive version. but for now, in terms of "it just works", PS2 reigns supreme.

Wow didn't know all these details between the different versions, thanks! Studs falling through the floor glitch is something I have encountered a lot. Is that patch online available somewhere? Is it maybe part of the patch from the PCGamingWiki's website? Btw, I think I was able to connect a controller through Xinput many months ago, but it is really annoying and hard and doesn't work perfectly. Biggest problem I remember was getting the joystick to work. Might have used the D-pad instead for moving around. This gameplay was done on keyboard however.

@@TwitdoofGames​​⁠​⁠​⁠ yeah, the patch is on PCGW, might also fix some compatibility issues you're having. forgot to mention in my OG comment, make sure the game also isn't running over 60 FPS, that looks looks like the issue you had in your longplay at 51:42, it's listed as one of the issues on PCGW. i had to set WinXP SP3 to get the game to launch, but had no issues and bloom effects on my old gaming PC, which broke. XInput technically works with DirectInput, i've been able to use my wired Xbox 360 controller, i actually got my left stick to move but d-pad didn't work, and i had to rebind a few buttons. it's still a little weird though, you can't use buttons for multiple things like the console versions so you might get a little confused. all these details make me kinda miss my PC copy, are you gonna redo your longplay? mad respect if you do.

​@@mokMan23Yeah I think the FPS was 60+, didn't know that was the reason for the few glitches/bugs in the game. Been encountering them since Windows 10/11. Also EpIII has some problems with the background music for cutscenes, especially in The Jedi Temple's and Darth Vader's level. Not sure how to fix that yet, maybe dropping the FPS will help? Will do a replay in future, but for my next video I wanna do a 100% longplay of LSW The Complete Saga, which will take me a while to complete though.

Yeah unfortunately with every new windows version new glitches and bugs begin, like getting to the last section of Episode I - Retake Theed Palace is really bugged (see 51:40) or the background music of some cutscenes in Episode III "re-loops".

@@501stlegionvadersfist3 1. I had no music bugs in those levels. Only Episode III created problems for me, which you can hear in some levels. 2. I didn't. My original CD from 2005 has always worked without mounting the CD. Even on WinXP back in the day. I just created an ISO file of my original CD and played from there.

@@eashoes7243 This is Windows 11 though, but the game just works fine on either. Just install it and it should work. Sometimes SWLEGO.bin crashes the game on startup, delete that file and it should work again. That's the only issue I had so far. Actually, the picture quality could be even better if you use DgVooDoo2, which I didn't (dumb me).

The game was developed alongside Star Wars Episode III and released over a month before the movie, so TT Games did not have access to the soundtrack in time for release. They were able to fix it for The Complete Saga but only did for the background music and not the cutscenes.

Yep. Originally, Anakin was supposed to have a red lightsaber in the Episode III movie, but it was changed last minute. Since this game was released before the movie came out, they couldn't make the change anymore. However, in The Complete Saga, Anakin's lightsaber was updated to blue.

Hi there! I noticed you still answer to comments quite actively and I happen to have a problem starting my game. I got the game on disc and I installed it on Windows 10 but nothing happens when I press play. I tried running both the game .exe and detectGPU files as an administrator and run it as Windows XP (Service Pack 2) but nothing happened. I haven't even made it to load screen or just blank black screen so the game could create some kind of .bin file so that doesn't seem to be the issue. Any ideas how to fix like patches or something else?

Hey! Thanks for your comment. There is a patch available from PCGamingWiki's website. Search for LSW The Video Game. Under 'Essential improvements' there is Patch Version1.0.0.2, which should help if the game doesn't launch at all. Also make sure you lock the FPS at 60 max. I don't think you need to run the compatability setting for WinXP, so I'd say uncheck that. Hope this helps, if not, message me again!

Yes it's a known problem. Drop your FPS to 60, that might help. You can see that I slowly lift R2-D2 by keeping pressure against the edge. It works just in time before the "jump/flying" action runs out of time.

This isn't your fault. LSW TVG is just an old game from 2005 and doesn't run perfectly on Win10/11. I am aware of some issues with background music in a few cutscenes. I edited most of it, but fixing it 100% wasn't possible unfortunately. Maybe lowering the FPS to 60 could be a solution, but that's for a future video! This gameplay was 120 FPS.

It does work perfectly on Win10/11. This gameplay was fully done on Win11. The crashing comes from 1 file (SWLEGO.bin) that gives problems. It's created every time you open the game, but sometimes it isn't created properly. Find your installation folder (something like Program Files/Giant/Lego Star Wars and just delete the SWLEGO.bin file. If the game crashes again upon opening, check if it's been created again and just delete it. If you need any help, DM me on Discord and I can show you.
