Because the different colors and helmets etc attract kids attention. Best battle pack ever was the revenge of the sith battle packs with the shock trooper, 327th and two plain ones. And the droid one to go with it. I got them a few times when I was a kid.

I don't think it belongs to either, its a bit to dark to be 327th its like Commander Bly/Cody has a baby and its perfectly in the middle. So what I do is I put that figure in the darkest corner of my room which has the least light and I pretend hes 327th lol because he looks like it only in the dark. It works for me xD.

No, this one is Octuptarra Combat Tri-Droid. Not Magna Tri-Droid. Combats are 3,6 meters tall. You can see some at the battle of Utapau, and in the background during Obi-Wan and Grievous duel.

If Lego were to make a 501st Trooper battle pack I wouldn’t want any Clone Commanders. If you’re trying to build a 501st Trooper army it wouldn’t make sense to have two of the same Clone Commanders. I would just want two phase two 501st clone troopers and two phase two 501st airborne clone troopers. That would be sick, I’d buy like 5 of those if Lego were to *Palpatine Voice* “Do it”

A friend of mine explained to me why Rex and Cody work so closely together. Cody is a marshall commander. He is in charge of the 7th Sky corps which consists of the 212th,501st and 3 "blank legions" (units who bear no colors and work with other legions who need reinforcements) Cody is one of only 3-5 marshall commanders. Rex works under Cody as the commander of the 501st.

Solid Brix Studios, there where two variants of the octuptarra. There was the combat version, which is in this set, and then there is the magna version. The magna version is the huge version.

There are different sizes in the tri-droid and even crab droid models. This version was shown in the old clone wars micro series, and as concept art along with the crab droid for ep III.

Actually, this scale of the tri-droid isn't that bad. This is the Octuptarra Combat tri-droid which is much smaller in comparison to the Octuptarra Magna tri-droid. The Combat one appeared on Utapua in the background immediately prior to Cody getting Order 66. Whereas the Magna ones were everywhere else we saw them (Clone Wars on Christophsis and Skako and also in Revenge of the Sith on Mygeeto).

The octuptarra is actually to-scale because on they are seen in the background on Utapau at roughly this scale to the droids around it.

Actually, there are two variants of the Octuptarra tri-droid. There is the combat and magna variant. The combat variant is 3.6 (Source: The Star Wars wiki) meters in height which is about twice as tall as a clone trooper. Though, that 3.6 meter figure for the tri-droid is in dispute but lego seems to have, perhaps unintentionally, made a somewhat accurate rendition of it.

Actually, the size is almost exact because in the movie you can see them on utapau behind the crab droids. Also there shown in chapter 23 of the 2003 'Clone Wars' series.

I would say remove the missile parts and put in a holder claw, like the hand not sure on names sorry, stud shooter, and grip part, the stud shooter from the death trooper pack, and the holder pieces with the hand holder part on the side and the piece to be held by that, to make it work better.

Hey David, I think you've confused the combat Tri-droid with the magna Tri-droid (in Mygeeto) in Ep.3, there were these smaller combat Tri-droids in Utapau when Obi-wan jumped down from the ceiling to fight Grevious.

I'm really glad they stopped with the whole like fight scenes within the battle pack. I mean I get it the kids like the 2 good guys 2 bad guys without buying another set, but really now they're back to what they did in the "good ole day" and are having one pack possible fight against another one. Actually if you look carefully in the background of episode 3 when the 212th troopers were attacking the droids, you can see a few Octuptarra tri-droids that looked pretty small. From what I hear, there's two versions: this small one and the big one from clone wars. Also, those new clone guns make up for really great rocket launchers! :)

Yep, you are correct. This is the accurate size for an Octuparra droid. The big ones are Magna tridroids.

The thing with the three-legged droid, (octoptarra i guess?) being too small is not fully true. In the movie, at some points during the battle of Utapau, you can spot them in the backround, being about the same size as in this set. (note, im not talking about those huge droids in mygeeto, although they look excatly the same)
