I can see the karts are built to hold the interactive characters and the power up boxes also have tags on top, definitely gonna pick up the baby Mario and Luigi set

They should make it so the digital character can interact with items and obstacles. They can do that by leaving a whole in the bottom of the cart where Mario can scan the floor for items/enemies

The fact they revealed January sets before X-Mansion…Anyways, these sets look AMAZING! I think the pricing is also pretty good and I do think they corporates the buildable characters in the cart pretty well. At this point, I’ve kinda lost hopes of mini figures but I’m pretty grateful for these. My favorite ones are the yoshi bike, Mario cart, and the MarioKart race set.

We wouldn’t have gotten half the characters or enemies we’ve gotten had they went the mini figure route yea the main characters would have looked great but characters like birdo nabbit toad yoshi and the koopaling kids, he’ll goomba bobbomb and all the other enemies would have never happened! Mini figures would work and look great with a 18+ set as a one off thing make the main cast in a set similar to the new Minecraft crafting table set or something of that nature!

Honestly it’s just cool to have builds of actual Mario Kart vehicles. I get why people are disappointed by the lack of minifigs but it’s probably just to stay consistent with the interactive characters

Dear lord, I love those sets! :0 It's been literal years since I was this happy about a lineup of Lego sets, considering both the price and content! I hope they'll continue strong with future waves! And honestly, I think the karts work very well with the scale of the brickbuild characters! I also think characters like Yoshi, Lemmy or DK probably wouldn't be as cool as if we got them as minifigures instead, so I'm honestly fine with there not being minifigs to be honest.

These look like great awesome sets for sure especially the Baby versions of Mario, Luigi, and Peach!! I also just absolutely love the Donkey Kong Barrel Train Kart set too as that's just so amazing and cool that they made that!! The Grand Prix raceway looks pretty cool for sure but I wish it wasn't a little too overpriced and also I wish it had more details to it. I want to see more characters that we haven't gotten in Lego yet get their own Mario Karts too such as Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Pauline, Rosalina, you name it!

My god, people crying about mini figures is the dumbest thing! Mario is a freaking video game! No kid wants to just drive around a kart and imagine that they’re getting power ups. Knex had full on tracks with track plates, obstacles like the thomps, fireballs etc. the cars were brick built AND motorised so you could either play free hand or put batteries in so they drive on their own. each set came with 2-4 unique items (the lego sets have the same 2 for almost every set). lego’s sets are just far builds with some toad mechanic side builds, and one big set with a starting line. it’s genuinely a pathetic comparison. knex sucked, but their mario kart line was awesome.
