Actually, that "flaw" of the ore getting stuck inside the sieve is kinda cool, because that's what happens in real life aswell. And in real life there are vibrators installed in the chute walls that can be runned periodicly to get the "vaulting" or stuck ore moving again, this happens especially often during rain or humid conditions. =)

From an educator's point of view, including a few obvious, and many subtle issues is important. Engineering learning comes from trying to improve the models. For people to be interested in fixing issues, there has to be some low hanging fruit, for example, smoothing out the chute will provide an instant improvement. This will then inspire more effort to improve other places where small pieces get stuck. Teaching problem solving requires having identifiable and manageable problems.

The company I used to work for made the Vibration units that would be at the bottom of the hopper which moved the rocks along. Never saw one in action but there was about 4 of them going out every month and I was only there for a year.

Excavator + processing plant + crawler crane = awesome The excavator mines the bricks, the crane picks them up and put them into the plant, plant sorts them, the two trucks that came with the excavator/processing plant picks the pieces from the processing plant 😎
@bluecoatscheesypoofs4 жыл бұрын
I have worked for a leading aggregate mining company in the past. We had our big stationary plant and hired a company to bring in one of these stationary plants when we could not keep up materials production to meet the customer demand. Having seen, operated and repaired components on the real deal, I can say that this was impressive to see that the LEGO Technic designers really did their homework on mobile plants. Of course, it’s simplified, (the real mobile plant could separate 4 different sizes of material at once), but the basic concept is there and seems to be implemented quite well. For a Lego set, this rig is impressive and more realistic than the A model in my mind. Do you know if Markus Kossman designed this set? He seems to create the most realistic sets of the Lego Technic range

Lovely Machine, I still pefer the old type of video filming of you building these lego sets! In the old type of videos we could see the building of the seprate parts close up and only 2X speed, in the new type like this the camera is above your build a long way from the building view and in 32X speed so not as good as the older building video? I was amazed by the amount of those new blue technic pegs in the set plus I did not know there was a uploaderable digital manual for these sets that you used a pad to view?
@searme8 жыл бұрын
I can't play a speed build that takes 4.5 hours at 2x speed because it would take 2.25 hours to watch. And downloadable instructions for B-models of the large Technic sets have been present for years - in fact, it's the only way to get instructions for B models.
