You can make 10 unique ratios with this, although if you leave one out you can get away with no double shifts in the same box (meaning no 1-3 shift) 1. 1,1 81:1 2. 1,2 45:1 3. 1,3 27:1 4. 2,2 25:1 5. 2,3 15:1 6. 1,4 (omit) 14.4:1 7. 3,3 9:1 8. 2,4 8:1 9. 3,4 4.8:1 10. 4,4 2.56:1 And if you shift 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10 you never shift both boxes at the same time.

very nice and compact! im trying to design a 16-speed myself but i want the ratios to be in ascending order with no duplicates. to do this i use 1:9, 1:3, 1:1, 3:1 for the first transmission, and 5:3, 9:5, 25:9, 3:1 for the second. the trick is to use exponents of the same number for the first transmission (i.e. 3^x, where x can be positive or negative integers) and ratios that are adjacent to one another for the second transmission. just wanted to share in case it could help as ive always found your videos very helpful... also im very proud of my math and wanted to show off ;)

Update: I think want to make in customizable controls. try 2 buttons in different color. (+, -). And run the same program with different numbers (0 & 1) ect. 0 is a decrease the speed is -90° 1 is a increase by 90° When you press the + button, the gearbox will increase (1st to 4th). And when you press - button, The gearbox will decrease (4th to 1st).

Now this is a valid reason for me to invest in PF2.0. Great job Sariel, you are the best spokesperson/marketing expert LEGO Technic has ever had. Or maybe i should say you are the Lord and Saviour; The Way, The Truth and The Life; The Preacher of the Good News of LEGO Technic

It would be very interesting if you could make a working clutch out of Lego. Then if this is possible you can even make a I.C.E powered Lego vehicle

Instead of using the spur gears for 3:1 and 9:1 gear ratio i will use 20 and 12 bevel gears and use 16 tooth gears where the bevel gears currently are so i can get more speed i will try that Idk we see 🤷🏾
@antoniopineno2054 жыл бұрын
Maybe put two powered up motors and program them to go off at different times so you can get the 16 gears

hello Sariel, i bet the biggest problem for other is to find this special orange gear what you use. i cant find it in google or bricklink and also in your instructions there no LEGO part numbers to find it. Furthermore i found a mistake in your instruction pdf with exactly this part - you never build it in, it's just there at some point --> sariel.pl/down/3speed-servo-combinable-transmission.pdf between page 5 and 6 (same at 12 and 13). but its still impressive! awesome work and respect to you, that you don't do it for money :)
