I love your central differential lock at 0:27. So unbelievably simple and efficient!

Thank you! I thought it was more reliable than connecting driving ring next to differential because each side of differential is tightly holded by axle hole. Even in this setting, when center diff lock is engaged geared down (3:1) XL torque twisted differential housing and damaged bevel gears. I've not reached the goal to make heavy offroader using flawlessly working center differential... Annoyingly much heavier 42070 doesn't break center diff:)

Great work, i really like this build. my dad had a LC 80 for a few years then got the LC 100. very nice realistic build, i like the grey and red version best. Hopefully Lepin doesn't rip you off, i don't think its right to take someones custom build and sell it without any credit. Recently we also rarely see LC 80 on the road even in Japan. (Suzuki Samurai still can be seen a lot more) I like gray version, too. The color scheme is inspired by Tamiya Model Kit. Your pneumatic engine is mind-blowing! 1500rpm? It is like a buggy motor!

LC 80's are quite common in New Zealand, we get a lot of Japanese Cars over here. Yeah the V8 is very powerful, it has the torque of about 8-10 XL motors and the RPM of a Buggy motor even under load. i have test run the hot rod and it is the fastest thing i have built in Lego 😄. Great work! I’ve also been struggling with the vulnerable central differential and bevel gear for a long time. I don’t think there is a perfect solution unless LEGO introduces a new type of diff with a reinforced housing. I have the concept to use multiple central diffs but haven’t realized in a MOC so far. Have you ever tried to use dual central diff (or maybe more) to distribute torque?

Thank you. I also thought dual center differential idea. I think it would be a good solution for big and heavy 4x4 model. Another idea was to make a differential using four knob wheels. But the housing became too bulky. Unfortunately there was no such a space in my chassis.

Gergely Hajos no it isnt A Differential is there so the different axles can turn at different speeds, if you lock it its like putting only one driveshaft there
