Lego also shoves SW nonstop down our throats. The amount of figurines and Star Wars sets allows it. Rivendell being the first good LotR set we’ve ever gotten. The rest were meh.

Seeing this REALLY struck me. It's all you'd want from a Mines of Moria build but all reformulated to be particularly striking as a complete build, not just a perfect recreation of one particular part. It's all made like a renaissance painting, ordered to look good when looking at it.
