The dragon didn’t disappear, it died in the lava. As soon as the egg touches the lava a baby dragon comes out. You have to pick it up quickly or it dies in the lava. So that’s your explanation there.

I'd recommend placing down a block of lava with the landscaping tool, then throwing the egg into it. the baby dragon should fall out from under it.

Just don’t throw it too far into the lava, make sure you throw it by the edge and pick it up as fast as you can

You really shouldn't use flatten to dig things out of the ground... You end up pushing items deeper into the ground! You should have used the square landscape/terrain tool, made it as large as possible and removed the blocks around him. Don't forget to set the 'remove objects' option to off!

Dude, I have almost 300 gold bricks and NO DRAGONS AT ALL. The spooky girl quests never appear either. At this point I pretty much gave up on getting dragons. It's sad, I know. But I won't waste my time getting something that isn't GUARANTEED TO SPAWN after you use it.

Keep generating a wicked wasteland world until you find a dragon wizard holding a crystal scimitar on top of a mini lava pyramid, it's next to a brick henge. It took me one try to find it but I guess it's just luck because I heard it's hard to find but just try to find a large wicked wasteland world I hope this is helpful if you need anything else just ask!☺
