Alay Wolf I don’t know if this is exactly what you want but in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book (5) and what I believe was chapter 1 Uncle Vernon discovered Harry lurking under a window listening to the news. He grabbed Harry and was scolding him and was probably going to hurt him but then pulled back. I like to think this is a subtle hint from J.K. Rowling that Vernon was going to hurt him but Harry was protected because of Lily’s sacrifice. Her sacrifice is mostly touched on at the end of the first one and the end of the seventh one so it would be easy to forget it while reading the 5th. Unless you happen to be like me and have read them 7 times. I just think it’s cool that Rowling never changed anything. The Cursed Child kind of changed literally every HP rule but she didn’t write that. We don’t speak of the Cursed Child. Thanks for reading another pointless rant. EDIT: 7 times is actually a weak number compared to my friends but I’m proud of myself and that’s all that matters.

@@zleem2873 thanks for replying so fast, that is a very interesting theory so here’s mine; I like to think that Vernon Dursley was showing a shred of humanity and/or decided to lock Harry up in his room. I don’t know if you wanted this but here is a comleatey (spelling is hard) unrelated theory; Hagrid only new/remembered his dad (I believe that is mentioned in the books) and the reason for that could be that Dumbledore found out about him and decided to take him and his dad to hogwarts/somewhere nearby. Hagrid was still “small” and therefore can only remember his dad by the time we meet him, it would explain why Dumbledore trusts Hagrid’s loyalty as Hagrid would only remember Dumbledore as a savior. Please let me know your thoughts and if you have other theories or generally random thoughts pertaining to fantasy literature such as those mentioned in my last comment or Pirates of the Caribbean, Artemis Fowl, and Percy Jackson. @@awolf9036 it was no problem replying quickly. I don’t really have much of a life. I like that theory. It was probably also convenient that Hagrid was younger and could be dismissed as tall. I don’t know if you watched the Artemis Fowl movie but if you haven’t, don’t. It was a disgrace. Did you notice how in The Atlantis Complex Artemis’ other personality was named Orion and in Greek Mythology (I think) Orion was the sun god (I am not sure about this in any way) and Artemis was the moon goddess? I think that was really clever seeing as how they were opposites. Also about The Atlantis Complex, you know how when watching TV it’s most satisfying if the volume number is a multiple of 5. Artemis was obsessed with multiples of 5 when he had the complex. I probably overthought this, but it’s fine. Do you think HP was influenced by LOTR or Star Wars more? Don’t let quarantine get to you! Ehh this was long. Not really longer than our other stuff I guess.

@@zleem2873 wow, I have watched the Artemis Fowl movie, I thought it was a fun movie but completely disregarded the book. Also yes, the whole idea with Orion and Artemis is probably correct except for the fact that Orion is (I am just going to say is even though it’s a myth) a giant and was the first male to join Artemis’ hunters. There are conflicting stories after that, but Orion betrays Artemis somehow and they are then enemies. This wasn’t really a theory more an explanation, but I am either INTP or INFP, and a true ravenclaw so I think that it is kinda required.
