Wait, I’m just realising that when he says “This is an ancient Elvish blade”, if you listen he says the word Gondolin. Gondolin is the name of the ancient Elf kingdom where the sword was made. I don’t know Elvish, but I’m guessing he actually said something more specific about how the blade was made in Gondolin, and the translator simplified it to just say it was an ancient Elvish blade as to not to confuse those who aren’t ultra deep in the lore to know about Gondolin.
