Silicone IS a closed-cell polymer. They're playing with words to make it seem fancier and more expensive than it really is.

@@cyanidesidesalad actually Polymer is a type of clay mostly used to create you own beads and other crafts. Silicon is more or less synthetic. Now don't quote me however I did consider it like 10 years back when I did Jewelery.

You have to take into account that it doesn't break down like standard sponges nor does it hold mold and bacteria. Sponges need to be tossed or fall apart quickly so they end up costing more year over year. This thing LASTS. Ends up cheaper.

💀🤣 Wayne Goss mentioned how much it looks like one of his 'toys' and I 💀🤣 watching him use it. I thought it looked like a tongue too. Doesn't help that they made it flesh toned. On purpose. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 I would try this if it was more reasonably priced. Like under 10$. I know silicone is closed cell that's really the same thing. The only thing that seems different is the size and shape and this thing seems slightly more squishy. That's it. I def wouldn't drop 60$ on one. I'm so glad you and Wayne did though because I thoroughly enjoyed the laughter y'all's videos brought me. 😆

My friend bought me a multi-variety pack of silicone blenders. They’re easy to clean but I feel like they’re missing the natural texture that a regular beauty blender would provide. I still have them and use them and I had to learn (like you) that if you place product directly on them then apply, it’s usually a wet mess. I like the convenience of the time saved sanitizing them but boy, do I miss my sponges.

The clinique bb thing (and some others) kind of need to be rubbed in in order to be "activated" and get some coverage, that's how you get rid of the grey tone. Unfortunately they oxidize a lot on me so I can't use them...

I'm not really a makeup person. I love watching the videos & I have a sister in law who is super into makeup so I've learned thing. I do enjoy nail art so I use the old makeup wedges for gradients. I just think there's a reason the beauty sponges are made out of similar material to the wedges. Like it needed to be tweeked but the old wedges were on the right track. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but if it could use some updates then go ahead.

I noticed a lot of texture too, and my base natural skin is WAY more textured than yours so definitely avoiding this lol. Silicone type products drive me nuts, they save product by just sliding it over your skin. I rely on the damp sponge after applying with a brush to pick up and even out any excess product lol

I’m gonna be honest with you bunny, If I were someone who cared a whole lot abt sanitation of my sponges this might be a good thing. however I use Real Techniques blenders the orange ones that cost 7.00 and I wash them out with Dawn dish soap and water and occasionally I might put some antibacterial soap on it quick, and I have never had ripping never had skin issues from that or anything. I barely care and i rinse it maybe 20 seconds at best I don’t like silicon blenders at all I would try this if someone gave it to me free and it was the only one I had at the time, you know? it did well on your contour maybe use it for that?

Did you see Wayne Goss reviewing the Leia? I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s really an interesting product, but I think I would prefer buying a $20 Beauty Blender. If any of you want to learn to make wire jewelry, or you are just interested in it, I’m now making jewelry tutorials on my channel and I’m working really hard to get monetized, which is more difficult than I thought. Beauty blenders soak up product, that thing doesn't, you'll need to use much less and it's still not going to be the same, also you have 40 blenders, of course yours don't break down, you never use the same one more than a handful of times, most people have maybe 5 tops
