Wonderful photos. Wondering how much post you did. How was the light metering with the new sensor metering vs the M10R. Highlight protection better? How wld you compare the experience to the M10R?
@OctavianCarare Жыл бұрын
Hi there and thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately I can’t tell how it improved from the M10R, I have never tried it :(. Regarding the editing it was pretty basic, increased the contrast, clarity, deepened the shadows a bit and the blacks and the whites. Bringing back the burnt highlights it’s the hardest thing to do. But the camera handles better than my Q2. I underexposed rather than overexpose.

Great photographs. How do you think it compares to the Q2 Monochrom?
@OctavianCarare Жыл бұрын
Well that's a good question! I have shot only once with the Q2 Monochrom and it seems it has a more digital look than the M11M. M11M seems to have more greys as well (dunno if it makes sense). I need more time with both of the cameras to compare it properly. I loved the Q2 Monochrom (actually I bought my Q2 before the Q2M was announced, I would probably have got the Q2M directly). It feels more street orientated in the hands the M11M somehow.

Strange, somehow your images here, looks much more "street like". Very aesthetic. The lack of color does something good. In a world where we are presented for so much information, it is actually nice to see monochrome images. You did very well. And you nailed the focus! I am still weak in focusing with my M10P. Great work Octavian. 😊

Hi Jan! Thanks for the feedback. I am curious what you think about the next video (with the XE4). I am really curious if you think my pictures look more street like. @@OctavianCarare Maybe I should not have written "street like", but I mean more "classic street". Good post, Octavian. (Would have been better had you reshot the windy opening intro.😊) Decent pics for first time use of the M11. Would expect better battery life, though - did it start out with a fully charged battery? Photos 4 (window framing) and 22 (accordion player) my favs - nice of you to buy him a waffle. Does take time to get used to zone focusing/rangefinder, but can be easier to concentrate on a composition. Noticed a few e-scooters in this one. Ever ride one? Might make for a cool POV. Cheers!

Thank you Paul! I stared with about 80% after fiddling around with the menus. Battery life isn’t bad though! Believe it or not, I have never tried a e-scooter and probably will not. I can’t see my self with a 5000 euros camera on a e scooter :)). Thanks for watching!

Good stuff man, enjoyed this. My feedback tho is to try make ur intro a lot shorter, u dont want to make new viewers click off because u take forever to get to the point, u gotta remember that people want fast results these days, so if things drag on too long it can lead them away. Same thing applies for business in real life too, for instance if a coffee shop takes too long to serve, they'll just go elsewhere.

@OctavianCarare Жыл бұрын
Merci Philippe!

Very well done. It totally convinced me that you are very talented at street photography. But, being convinced that the M11 is the right tool for street remains elusive. The fault isn't yours. The bar is set high with a $9K camera. The people who own them seem to universally love them, but showing someone why in pragmatic terms seems to be very difficult

Leica could make a Monochrome just restricting by software and not telling to anyone, and people would still see ‘differences’ compared to the ‘color’ M11. I love so much your photos, the saturated and contrasty colors many times, that B&W is sad and restricting to my eyes.
@OctavianCarare Жыл бұрын
Hi Antonio ! If you have the chance, please go and try the M11 Monochrom, you will defintely be impressed by the BW and the tones. Not even talking about the high iso :). It is true that is restricting shooting only BW but sometimes can be liberating :)
