Ah yes the like of cows. I’m considering printing hat for an empty spot in the house actually. Will let you know how it turns out mate. I’ll be sharing more so a subscribe would be great.

Hi David. It is a gorgeous camera alright isn't it. :) At the time I didn't really look too much into the differences between the M8.2 over the M8, but I do think the finish is class on the M8.2. I will be back out with it this weekend. Do you shoot yours much?

@@colinosullivan I’m a full time wedding photographer using SL2’s and a Q2 so I don’t get as much chance as I would like to go out shooting with it, but when I do it’s a release as it slows me down
@colinosullivan2 жыл бұрын
@@Dpul945 that is great. I’ve never used the Q series or the SL series of cameras. The SL looks like a good work horse. Given I love 28mm the Q2 would be a ton of fun. This weekend I may head up the mountains and shoot a video. Weather dependent as we’ve had some wild storms.

Hi Colin, I really enjoyed your video. Beautiful images ! Thanks for sharing your Tips with us all, . . . but you forgot to mention a gentle action with your hand : "How to move the head of a cow !" Now waiting for the next foggy day, greatings from Antwerp, take care, Roger ;-)

HAHA Roger. After I was thinking it did look a bit strange but I did want the cow to move it's head and it worked! Glad you liked the walk. It is starting to get cold finally here, later than normal. I am guessing Antwerp it has turned cold also? Cheers, Colin

Loved the photographs, particularly the B&W ones. Very calming compositions. If you did use B&W film in the fog, put a blue filter on the lens, it will accentuate the fog, also great advice for over exposing 2 stops, otherwise the fog will be placed on a middle gray, or Zone V by the camera. Thank you
@colinosullivan2 жыл бұрын
I will definitely try a blue filter with fp4 when I go back with my m4. Glad you like some of the photos. The exposures on snow or fog get a lot of people so figured it was worthy of a mention! If nothing else people got to come on the walk with me. I appreciate the advice and hopefully you check back soon.

Love the shot of the cow at 7:35. I live down the road from a cattle farm in North Georgia USA. I photograph the cows so regularly they come to the fence when they see me. I sold my M8 last year which I bought in 2006 for a pristine M-P240. Thanks for posting this video.
@colinosullivan Жыл бұрын
The Leica m9 was the first M I ever picked up at a photo expo. I didn’t know much about the M back then but I knew it felt good. The m240 is a lovely solid camera. The extra iso range makes it very handy. I’d love to visit Georgia someday. It looks lovely. Yeah they’re friendly alright the cows, but unfortunately I’ve had a fairly close near miss of a bit of a stampede a few year back. So these days I make sure I’m outside the fence and I did t miss any bulls 🤣 do you go out much with the m240. I’ve had a busy week so this weeks been a lot of everything else but photography. I hope you follow along as I’ve l plenty more coming. Cheers

@colinosullivan Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you liked it. I've a video premiering tonight at 23:00 GMT if you want to check out more like this. Given the M8 and M8.2 are ASP-H sized sensors it has a x1.3 crop factor. I tend to shot my Zeiss 28mm 2.8 Biogon a lot, It's basically similar to a 35mm on full frame. It's a super sharp lens and light. I would love to try the 28mm Leica cron and the 21mm Leica Super Elmar someday. Maybe soon on my channel! What camera are using ?

Inspiring! I noticed you are using an IR cut filter. Can you recommend a good one?
@colinosullivan5 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed this one mate. Yes, if I'm intending to shoot colour I will sometimes add the IR Cut filter. Sometimes I like the colours of the M8 so I'll use a standard UV filter, and I always leave the IR Cut off to black and white. The IR Cut filters I use are the B+W F-Pro 486 UV IR Cut MRC. I have always used B+W and they are still mint condition after ten years of use. Hard use. haha

@colinosullivan10 ай бұрын
Thanks. Appreciate the kind words. I tend to use my zeiss zm 50/2 planar, 28/2.8 biogon for wider shots. I do sometimes shoot 35mm for environmental or low light portraits but in this video it was my zm lenses. They are solid and work like they did 13 years ago when I purchased them! Maybe I should review them 🤣 I hope this helps. I goes with aps-h crop it makes the 28 a 35ish and 50 a 63mm!

Thanks Frank. I hope you liked this one! I will have plenty more to come if you want to sub. One or two photos the auto white balance was off so I cooled it down to what I saw and felt on the day. I’m no guru at Lightroom so I keep it basic mate
