When McAtee came on it just felt like something changed. The hope we used to have every time Foden had the ball has gone this season but seeing McAtee on the ball gave me belief and it didn't take him long to help create the goal that sealed the points. I also felt Savinho came of age today as well. Wishing all City fans a very Happy New Year and especially you Ian with all your hard work.

Great 3 points Ian, great support today. Not a great performance, but a win is all that matters. James McAtee superb for the 25 minutes he was on. I remember seeing this lad in the youth team at 15 and knew then he was a special talent, really hope pep gives him some more minutes. Well done James. There’s still work to do with the squad, but at least we’ve stopped the poor run, hopefully we can kick on from here. Happy new year to you Ian and all my fellow blues. Been watching them 52 years, still love it, and as long as I’m still here, I’ll continue to follow my club.

Good win but we look really poor in defence, Gouirdiol looks spent as defender, needs to move to midfield or given time out. Mctee was amazing , needs to play more.

Although our legs seemed to go in the second half for a time and Leicester appeared to get stronger during that same period; I thought there was improvement both collectively and individually from us yesterday, especially in the first half. A nice 6-day rest before home league and cup games is just what the [Manchester City Club] Doctors ordered. Momentum is there for the taking and the smiles / relief on the players' and management staff's faces will hopefully grow into renewed confidence.

Watched the game on tv and thought the City fans were in fine voice. It’s a shame the atmosphere at the Etihad is so dead. I know the South Stand do their best and I know it’s a consequence of the all seater stadiums but it seems like it’s always the away fans who contribute most to the atmosphere.

The relief on their faces when the 2nd goal went in allowed them to control the game the rest of the way. Prior to that, we were waiting for them to equalize. Peps fatal flaw is relying on the knackered senior legs and minds to see us through. It's not been working, so hopefully after Macca's impact today, he'll have a rethink and stop selling off all the quality who have been brought up the City way. Foden needs to sort himself out. He was beyond shocking. If his tummy hurt, then even more reason for Macca to play.

KDB had much more energy while Foden is a shadow of himself for some reason. Foden does not cover his fullback and a number of times Rico was shouting at him as he had 2 players. I mentioned before that he should be called "pass back Phil" as that is all he does at present. Haaland at last was putting himself about. Macatee did more in his cameo than Phil has done in his last 5 matches. Well done blues and it sounded like a home game. Happy New year Cheesy.

I wouldn't give a toss if we went out of that club world cup early, it doesn't mean much to me, although i do appreciate the prize money involved ...... we need to make a real push for a top four place in the Premier league, and ensure NEXT seasons Champions League qualification ..... we need to have a go at winning the FA Cup, because of its tradition and exposure ..... and, as bleak as it looks, we need to do our level best to remain in THIS seasons Champions League, again because for the club the prize money is substantial.

We beat a Championship team 2/0, they had more possession,better pass rate, we are long way from being sorted,Foden needs a kick up the backside,showed no passion,was jogging most of the game, he's more interested in fishing,Kdb has lost a yard of pace, guardiol is a midfielder not a defender, i remember when we hunted the ball down as a team,now theres only bernardo who bothers.

Interesting summary on MOTD from Danny Murphy. He was highlighting the minutes played by KDB and he thinks his game is picking up . I think de playing KDB is like waving a double-edged sword; you get quality on the ball but a low intensity midfield. City look better with Kovacic in defensive midfield and I think we will be better still if Mcatee plays instead of KDB. Start him, and use KDB as a sub.

McAtee took his chance to get more minutes today which was a highlight of several low weeks, my doubt with him going forwards is lack of pace and altheticsm - technically very good however. Time to invest now in genuine world class players with legs, not just for this season, but for the next 5 years. We all can see some players are done, particularly walker who I've personally never rated as a player on or off the pitch (debacle him being captain). Musiala, wirtz at a very minimum, get rid of grealish, stones, rico lewis, gundo
