Clearly the song wasn't right for her, but im pretty sure she was pivoted into ths genre since pop sells. She doesn't look like she enjoyed performing this either. Fortunately, she got more famous and now she has the choice to sing the genre she is most comfortable with - folksy ballads - that highlight her wonderful voice.
