Now I have a question, do I keep back one of my keyboards from selling to pair with the Genos when I order it? With every solution you provide Leigh, it presents another dilemma for me! It has been a great joy to watch you demonstrate today and your playing seems much more relaxed and effortless coordination. Your videos just keep getting even better. My dad had a midi accordion back in the late 90's . He used a Roland RA90 arranger module. I set up his midi channels so he could select voices directly off a small numeric pad on the accordion, or could select them directly on the RA90. I set it up so he could transpose the RA90 ( but of course that put it well out of tune with the accordion ) All good stuff.

Really a great video Leigh. I already have a Yamaha DGX-670 and love it. The Genos 2 is an entire different level. But to be able to combine BOTH into a double manual instrument sounds incredible. You have a great way to explain how these things work. THANKS.

Hi Leigh, thanks for your video. I like to play two keyboards, being an organist at heart. When I started this video I recognised the little box, I have one sitting upstairs which is part of the 3V Theatre organ kit I purchased from TTT sounds. Great video, Leigh. Can you recommend a stand for this configuration? Most dual keyboard stands have smaller, flimsier arms for the upper manual. I assume the Genos2 (or even the SX920) is heavier and wider than the NP35? Thanks!

Hi Leigh a great solution and presentation, the problem I see is you can now only mix two sounds to the upper manual? Which is now very restrictive? I enjoyed your video.

That’s the only restriction however you can if you want assign one of the song voices which then leaves you with 3 sounds on the upper.

Thank you for your highly informative video! Is it possible to recreate the MIDI setup you showcased with the PSR 770 alongside a PSR SX900 without requiring the Lab4Music Sipario Advanced MIDI Router, similar to how you approached it with the NP35 and your GENOS2?

You can but you wouldn’t have multi split points on the lower

At present, I play my Genos 1 With a Yamaha NP30 lower keyboard and a set of Roland PK5 pedals Using the TRX system. Is there an easier way to connect these components together when I upgrade to a Genos 2?

This is the easier way as you can also plug the pedals into this sipario box.

What kind of stand you use for this? My Genos 2 and Tyros 4 can't even get closer to each other if i wanted, as the top shelf is on it's lowest setting. But it would be great if i could get it a bit lower, but still would be able to reach the buttons. Cool setup you got there. You can’t put a genos and tyros 4 close together. There’s no way. This keyboard has no buttons or controls which means it sits neatly under the Genos 2

Sure, for organ players that would be the best option, as the key's are really close together, but i have to make do with the T4 and G2, so if i can find a stand that lets me put them closer together than they can now, i would be happy 🙂

Adding any keyboard with buttons, screens in my book is a no no as you can't put the keyboard as close together as you can with the Yamaha NP series. Plus the Korg Pa sounds old now (launched 2018) so it's now 6 years on since its release. When I say you don't need any other voices or styles with a Genos 2 - I mean it. You don't need any other sound sources - it's got everything you need, all you need is a cheap midi controller keyboard. There's a lot of choice out there, look for one with minimal buttons and dials as you need to put the lower keyboard really close to the Genos to get the dual keyboard system.

Hi Leigh sorry to keep coming back to this subject, I have noticed that with this set up the lower left hold don't seem to work nor does the Harmony on the NP35 is there a work around or am I missing something? thank you best regards Del

@@LeighWilbraham Hi Leigh I have got all the settings on the Genos as you have demonstrated Port 1 Ch 1 - Left , Port 1 Ch2 Right 3 on Midi Receive but cannot see the green light illuminate only see it illuminate if on Midi Transmit. standard midi cable from Genos Midi A into Midi out1 port on Sipario USB Cable from NP35 into USB Host port on Sipario Sipario Scene 1 In - Midi 1 - Out - Midi 1 Ch.in - 1 Ch.out 1 I have not set up the Right on the lower as I could not set the Left as yet, the above settings are they right? if not what should I alter? You just add a voice to right 1 right 2 right 3. If you don’t hear the right 3 voice you have a split for right 3 turned on. To turn it off go into split/fingering and change the right 3 split to the same as right 1 and Right 2.

If you hear only 2 sounds you definitely have a split turned on or the volume turned down.

A better option is to connect your old Genos keyboard to the Genos2 which makes it easy to use all options available to both keyboards. That’s my new setup and it words great!

It’s not a “better option” because the two keyboards don’t sit on top of each other close enough to play both with one hand like and organist does. All you’re doing is connecting two keyboards and you still only have one split point on both.

True, you can’t easily reach one keyboard from the other . However , I use the upper keyboard ( my 2nd keyboard ) primarily to utilize different voices for my right hand. I find it easier than taping the preset upper voice keys during a performance . You can also set the upper keyboard so that all the keys can play the right hand part ( ie full piano keyboard ). It also gives you 5 right hand voices. Very versatile .

Why don't you have intention of connecting pedals to your Genos? Wouldnt that give more possibilities without distracting yourself from playing?

Because to use any of the dance styles relies on the baseline that’s complex and not possible to play with one leg.
