Hi Leisa, we're all loving the UOGB vids in these tricky times! Keeping people entertained is making this very unusual situation a lot more bearable . My daughter and I played a mini concert to our neighbours in the sportsfield behind our house for VE Day, yesterday. I really think it's bringing out the community spirit again, which is lovely. Naturally, we played 'We'll Meet Again'. By the way, I loved the Attenborough-esque uke collection vid. Fab.

To think without this lockdown these hidden gems in the wild would never have been seen. The traffic, hoards of people and pollution would have driven those ukes deep into forest.

So lovely and warming to bring the ukez out in to the air to expand their expressions and gain enthusiasm from the out doors. I am glad they didn’t find their wings and fly away . The few bars that were plaid just want you to have more. An orchestra full of individuals with the same ( slightly ) crazy mind set. Wonderful and making me smile.thanks

Loved the tour of the collection. Especially loved the “footnote” explaining exotic wood terminology. I notice that on each of these tours, orchestra members refrain from saying the total number of ukuleles in their collection. I can only assume this is to discourage snooping insurance agents and cat burglers!
@nameymcnameface61074 жыл бұрын
I'm only at (whisper it) six, if you include a Banjolele in need of a professional set-up. If I could play, the number would be three or four times that, I suspect.

I love the Richard Attenborough style. My Kala looks like yours. It's the only one I could afford when I was in a wheelchair and the little exotic bounder does rock, when necessary, cheapest in Hollywood. For some reason there are (were?) tons of ukus on the Walk of Fame. I would live in your backyard in a bamboo shed (I compost and I recycle and I build musical instruments out of everything) and by the way it is called an ooh-koo-lay-lay, bitte, please, por favor, I'm an island boy at heart, please let there be one bloody human being in the United Kingdom who says it right. Uku-lele, which means "hopping flea" in Hawaiian. Really, I am gobsmacked at the lack of education in your great land...London can take it. Prove it.

Philip Page spend as much as you can afford to. I like my lanakai - there might be some more basic models. You know what... when you can, when we’re all allowed to go out again, go down to the music store and just play a few and test em out. That’s the best way.
