Thank you for an update. My nephew is a Forest Service Hotshot working via helicopter and their work is nonstop with some post career deal with Post Traumatic Stress. The Hot Shot team from New Mexico left yesterday for LA. We have had ZERO moisture this winter--seriously. We are holding our breath for the spring winds and a lot of easy fire "fuel" in the mountain around us. My heart is broken for the many homeless in LA and for those who did not make it out of the conflagration alive--animals and pets left behind. I keep asking myself, "What more of a wake-up call must we have?" Thank you for this film.

Thank you for this video, demonstrating what a difference mere days can make. 😢 I've been dismayed that Mr. Bluster (the convicted felon!) is using this disaster as a means to discredit & blame Gavin Newsom. Driving up to this vantage point I notice the smoke is more obvious. I'm glad to see the wind has died down & the sky is blue. Maybe the calm will give all the brave individuals fighting these fires a chance to get the upper hand. Your neighbor north of the 49th Parallel supports every effort in this fight. @sharonabbey5418 I think it's a good reason to buy a car. Look at all the ads that sell bloody expensive cars because they have Apple iPlay. An Alpine cassette deck might have been slightly cooler I reckon.

@@bernardpullon4632it was a great cassette player. And there was an amplifier installed in the car too. And the car ended up being a very good choice as it saved my life, my kids and my brother too when we were t-boned by a tow truck at over 60mph. Sad to lose the car, but most other cars we wouldn't have survived in, especially my kids and I. As it was we were all level 1 trauma patients. Being a paramedic, that was incredibly scary!! Ironically, the car was damaged by a major hailstorm 2 weeks earlier. So the insurance company decided it was totalled before the truck totalled it. But, they were willing to pay for the Alpine Stereo!!! So that's the only money I got!! But without it, Ironic that that is the reason I bought the car!!

Thank you so much for the updates. You've been on my mind since this began. Also, one of my uncles houses is in Arcadia. My mother grew up in Alhambra and father in Glendale. So I have spent quite a bit of time in your area as well as the Palisades area. I used to be a wildland firefighter in training. And did fight a few minor fires myself, but mostly my role was medic as a paramedic, to make sure those fighting the fire were staying hydrated and healthy. It's amazing how long they will go, if left to their own devices, to save others property and lives!! With great risk to their own health and safety! It also amazed me, and today's video shows it, how quickly they set up an entire self sustaining community, not needing any real resources from the surrounding area!! It's their own city, very literally, as you've shown today. And they schedule supply drops from helicopters into the mtns for those that are deployed in the more rugged areas. Or if flying isn't possible, they have other other ways to get supplies to them. All of this is set up within a matter of a cpl of hours from the beginning of them being deployed!! I went to the wildland firefighter academy that is held every year for abt a week, a cpl of times. And many of the firefighters didn't stay in motels, it was run just like it was an actual deployment. They set up their tents and slept in them. They gathered every morning just as if it was shift change and went over the plan for the day. And did the same at the end of the day. It's amazing to witness!!! Just as you witnessed and showed us today. Thank you so much for showing what these incredible men and women do.... and how they do it with minimal if any stress on the community or area they are serving!!! Wildland Firefighters in all areas of it, are some of the most physically fit, hard core firefighters there are and that I've encountered in my 45+yr career!! Not to discount City/cty firefighter firefighters at all. It's just that wildland firefighters go to where the fires are, all over the country. So they bring everything they need with them and set it up with amazing speed and the organization is incredible!! There are many other areas of our world that could learn from how they operate! Stay safe, please get some sleep!! Set your phone to alert you, which I'm sure you already have. Are they sending the alerts that will loudly go off even if the sound in your phone is turned off?? Anyway, take care of you, Maureen and the puppies. The firefighters have your back in every way they possible can!! Fighting nature at every turn! Trees exploding rt next to them, cutting down trees and risking them falling the wrong way and hitting someone (rarely happens, but it does), hiking the most incredibly steep, rugged areas you can't even imagine anything but a mtn goat could climb!! Hiking for miles and miles carrying all their equipment, like chainsaws, shovels etc, gas for the chainsaws in top of all the equipment that they will need for their own personal needs. That is what the hotshots primarily do, as they rarely fight urban fires. And if you try to thank them. They just kind of blush and move on. They feel they are just doing their job and don't need to be thanked in any way for it!! They are amazing!!!! Thank you again for this video. Few people get to actually see what goes into a wildland fire deployment!! Take care my friend!!

The forecast is for more high winds this weekend. I just don't know how we can handle another fire area. It could be anywhere the next time.

True, but at least we got the break. Now there's time to put together a better game plan, and more equipment and personnel are en route.@RockandRollWoman

Praise be to God, I came to the Lord asking for his blessings as a single mom because raising my son (Joel) was an act of courage despite all the challenges. And the Lord answered my prayers with a benefiting. income of $41,000 every month. To God be the glory. Joel is in school and life's been fair lately.

I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of KZbin videos about it, I still find it hard to understand.

Thanks for the update and the mini tour, They had a item last nite on the TV news here in NZ with a heli flyover above Pacific Pallisades, it looked like Hiroshma, it was hard to comprehend that amount of devastion. Where would we all be without the dedication of those women and men in the emergency services. Glad you Maureen abd the pups are OK.

Stay safe and GOD BLESS those dedicated and brave individuals who help and protect us! I hope and pray that where they were dispatched from has the resources to deal with any emergencies in their local cities and towns.

We went through something like this with Hurricane Beryl recently here in Houston, TX. What I mean is this; people were without power for weeks and we would see power companies from as far away as Florida, Georgia, Alabama etc.. just sitting in waiting areas waiting for direction. My neighbor drove down to a parking lot and said to these guys from Alabama we don't have power. Guy and his trucks followed him to our street and within a 1/2 hour our street had power. It was a cluster Fu*k of epic proportions. They were given ZERO DIRECTION ON WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO. Seeing all those responders in a parking lot .........don't get me started.

A lot of those people worked different shifts and they rotate in and out for food and rest. Also, some are in reserve for new hot spots and fires.

Randy, I have heard experts describe LA as a hurricane without rain.

@@markgalliher5707 Hey Mark I understand what you're saying but go to the 1:34 mark of Leland's video and see the guys standing in a circle. It reminded me of seeing that all over Houston and especially in my area where the responders had no idea what they were to do. My neighbor ask them the same questions you asked and were told they were waiting on direction. Here's some direction follow me. Half hour later we had power. I'm sorry but Southern California hasn't seen rain since last March??? State Farm sent out cancellation notices to 70% of their customers in Pacific Palisades. I THINK THEY SAW THIS COMING, DON'T YOU?

@@randyschiffer3265 Randy, yes that happen to often it is a reason first responders like military veterans are prone to Post Traumatic Stress; following orders, like being in a war zone may be a form of organized insanity.

There are no words to express my feelings towards what has happened - the loss and suspension of living is bewildering. Down here in OC on the edge of the Cleveland National forest the winds were high and very alarming. All I could do was stand watch and stay informed - a night or two of no sleep. It’s extremely disconcerting and we pray nightly for a return of hope, reconciliation and a return of comfort and safety for our fellow SoCal citizens and responders in Los Angeles. Our daughter had to come down and stay with us from Burbank due to air quality.
