every series does have it's flaws though, but i really love kagepro... but mekakucity has to be the most confusing route, but im a person that doesn't really dislike/notice many flaws in anything unless it's SUPER BAD, i have to be told or be really payin attention. i do love it's characters for sure, especially kido, i even have a tattoo of her i love her so much TwT with jins reboot coming up, hopefully a lot of stuff you mentioned will be improved upon

Well, accidently delete my comment somehow, so i am gonna write it again: For starters, yeah, the anime was never ment to be watched by new people who never even touched the project so Mekakucity Actors is only bad if your Kagepro knowledge is not up to date with everything that happened and yes: the radio dramas gives you more insight just as much as everything in this series just so is not totally needed but if want more information is there Also you said you did not understand how Hibiya and Hiyori get to the Kagerou Daze it is in episode 5: in episode 5 Shintaro is with Konoha after his left eye flashs red for a moment giving a memory of Ayano, Haruka and Takane in school and after that they see Hibiya and Hiyori getting kidnap, Konoha stops them but a truck soon came by hitting the three of them and Shintaro sees a snake taking them to the Kagerou Daze just as has happened tp Ayano The Kagerou Project is a series that you need to be up to date with your knowledge and insight on whats going on to fully watch the anime and every part pf the series, is like if a random person starts playing Kingdom Hearts 3 with no knowledge of the other games, it will be fun but confusing as heck, but my friends that i have explained the Kagepro fully undesrtand it before i fully finish explaining so is just a matter of learning

I don't know where you got that comparison to Lain. The visuals and pacing are obviously a hold-over from the Monogatari Series, The Kubikiri Cycle, etc. All done by Shaft as well. Just watch the first episode of either and it's pretty clear. The Shaft aesthetic is sick but I could see how it can get in the way of adapting something accurately.
